Sunrise, day 2.

Another shot of the temple ruins at sunrise. The snorkeling in this lagoon is amazing.

Processed with +darktable, to tweak the levels a bit.

Darktable process vs OOC JPEG.

Shot inside a museum at ISO 1600 on my E-M1 (mark 1)

Olympus camera processing does a good job with noise, but the image lacked pop. The shadows were too dark and the highlights looked ugly. Processed the RAW version in Darktable with pretty basic adjustments. Base curve and tone curve to bring up the shadows and soften the highlights, a bit of sharpening, then two applications of noise removal. I made one instance with profiled NR using wavelets. Turned up the strength then applied uniformly using color blend more to strictly eliminate the color noise leaving behind pleasant "grain". Then I applied another instance of profiled NR using non local then turning down the strength just to the point where the grain softened.

I'm a knitter, a leather-worker and a glover.
Using a Canon 600D and a vintage m42 50mm lens, I take shots of my products. Darktable is my weapon of choice for getting my images from camera onto social media and the world for which I am eternally thankful. What a wonderful tool this is.
