The Small Town Drug Epidemic:

"Heroin stash found in raid City couple jailed on drug charges"

In what appears in the local newspaper to be an illegal search and arrest where those arrested were not read their rights to legal counsel. The police had those alleged criminals humming and pointing fingers without being advised of their rights to counsel.

In the Small Town Drug Epidemic where human rights takes and back seat with the much more effective solutions of treatment.

"Heroin stash found in raid City couple jailed on drug charges"

"An Altoona couple is behind bars after police allegedly found tens of thousands of dollars worth of raw heroin in their 23rd Avenue home."

"The search started at 6 a.m. Sunday with a knock by police at the door, and after no response, officers forced their way into the home".

The ALTOONA MIRROR: Annoyingly sated "wax packets"? What's that? Is that what the cop said in the heat of the moment (In what lacks intelligence?). Where? Oh? 46 years of Drug War policies have failed and in fact feed the fires in the vicious circle of a mindless police state drug treatment industry and system of injustice failures where other countries succeed on the merits.

Where journalists can cross and dot what letter they should they otherwise seem unqualified

So it seems the Altoona Mirror is breaking in another molly coddled college educated journalist wannabee, in the position of hack journalist slash police informer. Congratulations on the "new job", though the Altoona Mirror, is a terrible paper with all too many syndicated reprints first published elsewhere: Where the Altoona Mirror does not have sufficient pride and integrity though carries much too many ads, so that one can not even use it it to line the litter box for kitty to piss on. Maybe they are the ones who need incarceration drug treatment and adjudication. Thanks for another brainless article that feds the blood lust of the American Roman Circus that reminds me of the ineffective strategies used in the Vietnam War simply because all too many Americans were juiced up on legal pharmaceutical drugs and Gun Ho John Wayne Audie Murphy propaganda films.

I Chopped Down the Cherry Tree! THE LYING ELITE.

American politics is not based on truth, nor lies, but most often half-truths and white lies where stories previous generations accepted as part of the fabric of American history have not merely been debunked but rejected as ludicrous.

Can any one visualize real life dialogues regarding the story of George Washington and the Cherry Tree? People generally would remember summarized as:

"I can not tell a lie I chopped down the cherry tree"

Where it is said that Abraham Lincoln earned himself the title of “Honest Abe” because "after working all day in a store and then realizing he had unintentionally short changed a customer he walked six mile to return the two cents to the lady.".  Where the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation is first to state "Of course, two cents in those days had much greater value than today." as most children would think such shallow fictions conflict with the realities of the world today.

Where 75% of the world's anti-depressants consumed in the United States at same time many say with straight faces we cannot afford provide free health care to everyone in the United States.

For as goes the United States so goes the "Free World" where we then could not deny health and decent living standards to the rest of the world while the World's wealthiest 16 percent uses 80 percent of natural resources, and "The U.S. alone consumes about 25 tons of raw materials a year for every man, woman and child" October 12, 1999 Web posted at: 11:45 p.m. EDT (0345 GMT) From CNN Correspondent Garrick Utley

The creation of political mythologies as any mythology is an ongoing process, it did not begin with George Washington, nor end with Abraham Lincoln, in what continues in the present day via the media entertainment industry that grosses trillions of dollars worldwide.

Within a production of truths and half truths George Orwell once spoke of in his 1946 work "Politics and the English Language," 1946, in the industry of which has been speeded up, refined, developed and even more insidious and cruel by the advent of computers, the proliferation of Billionaire corporate political contributors.

I have a video clip with Hillary Clinton stating "let's remember here, the people we are fighting today, we funded twenty years ago" that was taken from an online video production that depicted her speaking in the US Senate though there was no real reference as to what exactly was she speaking on, though the video producer placed it within the well deserved context of Islamic Jihadists that we know today were supported by many including:

The likes of the Mujahideen and Osama Ben Ladin, supported by United States, Pakistan, The Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence - Special Directorate, China aka as the People's Rebublic of China or Communist China through their People's Liberation Army, Saudi Arabia, and involving many including Iran

Where the events were broken down into bite size pieces for public consumption as:

War in Afghanistan (1978–present) ("Second Afghan Civil War")
Saur Revolution (1978), Communist insurrection
Soviet war in Afghanistan (1979–1989), Soviet involvement
Civil war in Afghanistan (1989–92), collapse of the communist Najibullah government
Civil war in Afghanistan (1992–96), leads to the Taliban controlling most of Afghanistan, with the Northern Alliance controlling northern Afghanistan
Civil war in Afghanistan (1996–2001), Taliban period
War in Afghanistan (2001–14), the American-led invasion
War in Afghanistan (2015–present), Resolute Support (NATO-led) involvement

Where the war was not ended, nor will the war end until saner and more intelligent minds prevail much like the British involvement in World War I where T.E. Lawrence successfully advanced the British position despite themselves which is much like the Americans today in their backward concepts of empires, capitalism, finance, profits, costs, politics and religion.

Religion and politics, which only exists in the minds of children, fools, despots, and dictators, where maybe there is intelligent conversation within the Council on Foreign Relations, of at the UN, but which does not exist in the cesspools of society that such intelligent minds created, but do no appear to inclined to resolve.

Where the problems of society are old ones coupled with new ones, in the idolatry of many images without substance by any name idolatry bound for destruction in what is doomed. Even as it is being constructed by a myriad of guilty criminal parties steeped in words and rituals but none the less lacking in substance as what only the most naive and gullible believes and will destroy.

For the more words they use they more is found by some to find fault with regardless of what is said and spoken of that common place finds acceptance at football and sporting events much like the Romans fed the Christians and Jews to the Lions at the Coliseum, but which is undistinguished as the world is cursed in the evil which possesses it as the plague otherwise called salvation.

So I am asked what to say, what to do, where to go?

Where I am reminded of THE TRIPLE JEWEL and as the story goes:

The Buddha knew it would be difficult for people to follow his teachings on their own, so he established the Three Refuges for them to rely on. If a person wants to become Buddhists take refuge in and rely on the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. These are known as the Triple Jewel. The Sangha are the monks and nuns. They live in monasteries and carry on the Buddha's teaching. The word Sangha means 'harmonious community'. The Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha together possess qualities that are precious like jewels and can lead one to enlightenment.

A refuge is a place to go for safety and protection, like a shelter in a storm. Taking refuge does not mean running away from life. It means living life in a fuller, truer way.

Taking refuge is also like a man traveling for the first time to a distant city. He will need a guide to show him which path to follow and some traveling companions to help him along the way.

The Buddha is the guide.
The Dharma is the path.
The Sangha are the teachers or companions along the way.

There is a special ceremony for taking refuge with the Triple Jewel. With a sincere mind, one recites the following verse in front of an ordained monk or nun.

I go to the Buddha for refuge.
I go to the Dharma for refuge.
I go to the Sangha for refuge.

For a Buddhist, taking refuge is the first step on the path to enlightenment. Even if enlightenment is not achieved in this life, one has a better chance to become enlightened in a future life. One who take the precepts is called a lay person.

But in that the world has become a mythology of lies, within a myriad of opinions and lies have things become better or worse in what may be seen as even more confusing?

As 2 billion souls become 4 billions souls, that becomes 7.6 billion souls.

Where the presidency of  Bill Clinton January 20, 1993 – January 20, 2001 coincides with the Civil war in Afghanistan (1992–96), that leads to the Taliban controlling most of Afghanistan, with the Northern Alliance controlling northern Afghanistan, and the Civil war in Afghanistan (1996–2001), Taliban period

But where direct US involvement began under US President Jimmy Carter, January 20, 1977 – January 20, 1981, and National Security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski "in the arming of the mujahideen in response to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan" but which CIA Director Robert M. Gates stated in his memoirs "From the Shadows" was begun July 3rd 1979, according to "Robert Gates, director of the CIA under Ronald Reagan and George Bush Senior, and Secretary of Defense under both George W. Bush and Barack Obama, because in his memoir entitled "From the Shadows", he revealed that the U.S. actually began the covert operation 6 months prior. With the express intent of drawing in the Soviets."

"The Carter administration began looking at the possibility of covert assistance to the insurgents opposing the pro-Soviet, Marxist government of President Taraki at the beginning of 1979. On March 5, 1979, CIA sent several covert action options relating to Afghanistan to the SCC. The covering memo noted that the insurgents had stepped up their activities against the government and had achieved surprising successes. It added that the Soviets were clearly concerned about the setbacks to the Afghan communist regime and that the Soviet media were accusing the United States, Pakistan, and Egypt of supporting the insurgents. The SCC met the next day and requested new options for covert action.".

Where if the truth be told one can not believe nor trust either the Republicans or the Democrats as painful they both represent the LYING ELITE, whom we have empowered as they push out buttons, twist our knobs, open and close doors, read, write and publish the books, make the trains run on time, who in essence own and control the means of production called industry and whom fund super PACS political Action Committees where they are allowed to contribute what ever they like to buy democracy  and rights for themselves, while we are nothing, or less than nothing, and no body  who are given a very expensive song and dance every election day to allow them the luxury of an illusion in propriety they bought and paid for, which is why the rest of the world is engulfed in flames called World War III.

While the freedom of speech we are afforded actually does not exist in this police state as all communications are watched, and censored whenever they THE ELITE wishes it to be so, either by the government, corporations and others they control.

Where every day I hear the WAR MOVEMENT but not PEACE MOVEMENT where that too has bee deemed a luxury they can not afford, as the Gulf of Tonkin incident was manufactured by President Johnson as a prestext for US involvement in he Vietnam War, the Weapons of Mass Destruction was manufactured under the George W Bush Administration as a pretext in the War in Iraq, and the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan was also manufactured under the Jimmy Carter Presidency and National Security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski in the new American mythologies to justify endless wars of ignorance and evil.

For in that it is all based on lies there is no TRIPLE JEWEL for there is no Buddha as guide,  and neither Dharma as the path, nor Sangha are the teachers or companions along the way for it is all a lie manufactured as in any war where the water supplies are poisoned, the road signs are removed or switched, and political assassinations and torture are every day occurrences as "good" has become a myth, as is life and truth, that exist solely in the ignorance of those who also profess belief as well where  none can be found in hollow idolatry of images of their respective beliefs rather than substantive meaning in truth.

As nihilism negates its own existence in circular thinking, existentially life and truth perpetuate themselves in real existence and being by material being.

“The nihilism of technology lies not only in the fact that it is the most perfect expression of the will to power, as Heidegger believes, but also in the fact that it lacks meaning. Why? and To what purpose? are questions that technology does not ask itself.”
―Octavio Paz

But in that "nihilism of technology *  are questions that technology does not ask itself.” where the presumption is that human beings are empowered to provide understanding in what technology does not and can not as simple in what prevents humans from answering  as in the corporation, the nation, the state, political parties, family, church, markets, nature, science, university, education, learning,  industry all viewed as in once  thought of empowering human beings but now enslaving them in what all encompasses them as a society out of whack and off kilter in what can not be escaped though some try.

Where Albert Camus in an earlier time stated “The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”

That now is not permitted as even truth and honesty is viewed as dangerous.

Loving Kindness Meditation (Metta Bhavana) at Indiana Buddhist Temple. All are welcome.

This is where you think you are,
this is where you perceive you are,
this is where people think your are,
this is where sound comes from,
This is where you really are,
Why am I still in this prison with you?
When you slam the door shut,
At once you find out at once,
how empty you really are.

ARE WE MOVING FORWARD?

CAN YOU REALLY REALLY READ, WRITE, SPEAK AND THINK IN ENGLISH? Try reading this basic phrase.

"PROGRESSIVE vs REACTIONARY"

What is so good about the world today in a divinity of language and technology that often seems to mean very little. Is religion as it is by the many religious traditions in the metaphysics of mysticism Paganism, Judaism,  Wiccan,  Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Secular, Humanism, Atheism et cetera in any manner a solution for the world's ills. Are the many forms of thinking justified so as to have a place in the world where what is most representative in the world regardless of the country spoken of in question is the misery, the repression, the hunger, the illiteracy that finds its most basics expressions in war poverty and suffering.

No where is there discussion that mentions capitalism, socialism, abortion, education, labor work, business markets, liberty, liberal, conservative, libertarian, nationalism, communism, fascism.

Generally though it can be said that to characterize the period of history of the modern era that began in 1902 with the Spanish-American War the world can be best described as a complete and total failure. The Vatican failed, Buddha failed, church failed, Jesus failed, Hitler failed, Stalin failed, all the leaders and great powers of world in essence failed the only why they seem to have not failed is the many narratives which are also often composed of propaganda.

Why is it that products don't sell themselves?
As advertising (propaganda) is needed?

Where slick designs and designs are contrived to sell what people allegedly need?

Are people that need something so stupid that they don't know it?
Is that a form of brainwashing indoctrination and cult mental abuse?

Is the fact that indoctrination is brainwashing and mental abuse require a form of brainwashing called deprogramming, and is there hope for a world people intelligence but otherwise are illiterate and uneducated?

The cure is worse than the disease?

Does one incorrect answer negate the solutions that are made available?

Modernity is founded upon progress and as such change where as reactionary thoughts wish to go nostalgically backwards, but does that mean all related ideas can be discounted and ignored.

"Progressivism is the term applied to a variety of responses to the economic and social problems rapid industrialization introduced to America. Progressivism began as a social movement and grew into a political movement. The early progressives rejected Social Darwinism." (Wikipedia)

In today in what often is rejected in fierce rhetorical battle of one form of nonsense posed against another form of nonsense where nothing positive can occur without progress as such represented by:

"PROGRESSIVISM is a broad philosophy based on the Idea of Progress, which asserts that advancement in science, technology, economic development, and social organization are vital to improve the human condition. Progressivism became highly significant during the Age of Enlightenment in Europe, out of the belief that Europe was demonstrating that societies could progress in civility from barbaric conditions to civilization through strengthening the basis of empirical knowledge as the foundation of society.[1] Figures of the Enlightenment believed that progress had universal application to all societies and that these ideas would spread across the world from Europe.[1] Sociologist Robert Nisbet defines five "crucial premises" of the Idea of Progress as being: value of the past; nobility of Western civilization; worth of economic/technological growth; reason over faith (scientific/scholarly knowledge obtained through reason and learning must supersede faith); the intrinsic importance and worth of life on Earth.[2] Beyond this, the meanings of progressivism have varied over time and from different perspectives.
The contemporary common political conception of progressivism in the culture of the Western world emerged from the vast social changes brought about by industrialization in the Western world in the late 19th century, particularly out of the view that progress was being stifled by vast economic inequality between the rich and the poor; minimally regulated laissez faire capitalism with out-of-control monopolistic corporations; and intense and often violent conflict between workers and capitalists, thus claiming that measures were needed to address these problems.[3]" (Wikipedia)

There in lies the many sources of argument and discontent while other simply ignore such pretenses and "carry on", "grin and bear", keep a stiff upper lip".

"A REACTIONARY is a person who holds political views that favor a return to the status quo ante, the previous political state of society, which possessed characteristics (discipline, respect for authority, etc.) that he or she thinks are negatively absent from the contemporary status quo of a society. As an adjective, the word reactionary describes points of view and policies meant to restore the status quo ante.[1]

Political reactionaries are at the right-wing of a political spectrum; yet, reactionary ideologies can be radical, in the sense of political extremism, in service to re-establishing the status quo ante. In political discourse, being considered a reactionary is generally regarded as negative" (Wikipedia).

"yet the descriptor political reactionary has been adopted by the likes of the Austrian monarchist Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn,[2] the Scottish journalist Gerald Warner of Craigenmaddie,[3] the Colombian political theologist Nicolás Gómez Dávila, and the Hungarian historian John Lukacs.[4]" (Wikipedia)

Who like spoiled children revel in their notoriety as enfants terribles though they contribute nothing towards the immediate solution of the many problems of the people of the world. Where seemingly they wish that all the people delusionally merely disappear where their existence is a fact and their solutions are mere suppositions fallacy and wishful thinking as the world gets worse and worse on a cataclysmic scale.

Where normal rational people ask where is the world really headed as they do not know though for sure while most often war is considered not good while peace is good, just as hunger, illiteracy, poverty is not considered good, though there are exceptions.

Albert Einstein has been quoted as saying that "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

In an antithesis of Einstein the highly successful online publication SALON stated:

“The definition of insanity” is the most overused cliché of all "
www.salon.com/.../the_definition_of_insanity_is_the_most_overus...
Salon.  Aug 6, 2013 - It's often said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Very, very, very often said."

Where even on death's door step we refrain from exercising discretion in not forsaking that which after life times of suffering we might refuse to abandon as it is what we have made part of use though we and our circumstances have changed.

But that is often like the concept of Saṃsāra (Sanskrit संसार), is the repeating cycle of birth, life and death (reincarnation) as well as one's actions and consequences in the past, present, and future in Hinduism, Buddhism, Bon, Jainism, Taoism,[1] and Sikhism[citation needed].

According to these religions, a person's current life is only one of many lives that will be lived—stretching back before birth into past existences and reaching forward beyond death into future incarnations. During the course of each life, the quality of the actions (karma) performed determine the future destiny of each person. The Buddha taught that there is no beginning to this cycle but that it can be ended through perceiving reality. The goal of these religions is to realize this truth, the achievement of which (like ripening of a fruit) is moksha or nirvana (liberation)."

Though Wikiquote notes that "The mind is always asking you to do something over again, something you have already done so many times before. And every time you see that by doing it nothing is achieved. What else can madness be?" [11] And: "To be mad is to keep repeating something that has already been seen as useless, as worthless." [12] Published 1975: Osho, The Great Secret, Chapter 10."

So the question of repetition in regard to meaning and purpose is not negated but honored as distinctive while the temporal world like the chaff but not the wheat is not.

So there I have found meaning but I am a poor man and seeming have nothing to show for it as I can be ignorant foolish and illiterate for as the many decisions I can make I am limited in time by what I can selected and choose in what is called good lives on beyond me in what defines itself and does not conform to what people say though persistently they try souls regardless of the pain and suffering they cause.

In what they perpetuate by their living in the past, or in the present in their ignorance wishing to return to the past forever forsaken to the dustpan of history; and where life goes on but often does not progress nor get better and improve for it is not designed to change for it is reactionary and lives in its delusions of the past not the future. Where equally living in past and the future are equally condemned as delusional and dream states of a madness the both constitute as ignorance.

"'If even a good man can be reborn in the Pure Land, how much more so a wicked man." - Shinran Shonin

This is not an overturning of the rules of morality, but it rather points to the matter of self-knowledge and self-emptiness.
A 'good' man is often proud of his 'goodness' thinking that it is his own. By appropriating goodness to the self, he becomes proud and arrogant.
An 'evil' man has the wonderful opportunity to realize his own self-emptiness and, in doing so, may become free of the ego-attachment that so binds us to our-selves such that we repeat all the patterns that have made that self 'evil'. When we see that the evil we may have done is not 'our' evil, but the effect of karmic seeds that are attached to the self and to which the self has become attached, we likewise see our true emptiness and know that we need not repeat those patterns for they are not 'ours'.

So, sometimes the notion of being 'good' can enslave us to the self, while the notion of being 'evil'--the knowledge that we are not 'good'--can lead to freedom from that self.
