As you know, Christy, Pam A., Marisabel and I spent time this past school year working on life skill examples for our current teacher evaluation rubric.  Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we were unable to share this with you at our last meeting.  A few weeks ago, the Teacher Evaluation Committee and Board both approved this document that I am sharing with you.

Although this is not all encompassing, we worked to include examples that covered all levels of the life skills group.  It is our hope that when administrators complete evaluations, they will have a better understanding of how to apply the evaluation tool to our life skill classes.

OK, here I go!  This is my first official post!  I'm not sure if any of you have heard of JJ's List.  It started as a social media page in which individuals with disabilities could rate and review local businesses but has branched into so much more!  I used to use it with students to practice writing after community trips.  Check it out!

Hi everyone,

If you are attending the Google Data workshop tomorrow, please don't forget to bring your Chromebook or laptop.  Also, if you are in the afternoon group, feel free to bring your lunch.  See you tomorrow!

I think I shared this resource way back when but I just received another email from a wonderful resource for reading/writing/literacy called www.tarheelreader.org  Students can find, read, and write their own books. They also allow for importing pictures and visual support. This can be used with low incidence students. There is also a text to speech and switch function for students who need those supports. You can search books by topic and rating (subject matter).  Take a look!
