Last one... I've learned a ton, and will mix this into my next client presentation.

On the desktop... playing with SketchUp output and Artrage. For now it would almost be easier to print or trace the linework on a sheet of paper and then hand color, but I'm sure I'll get faster and come up with a more convincing water color style.

Lots of little details that could be added to this drawing - model is still in the prelim stage for clients. I need to add a pergola / sun shade over the patio, update the doors all around, add trim, siding, etc.

hello everyone, i would really like to ermm render the way i see in some of the post here. now before am told to get on youtube, i have tried that and stuff are just not explained in a way i understand easily, for most of tutorials you have to have background knowledge of the rendering app like vray which i don't and the very good ones are not in english!

can please, please somebody help cause i feel so left behind#sketchup

thanks

Lynda.com has a pretty good series of tutorials and if you go to this link
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS2fqMqRGeWb4cCdBaJkiyC9wKeaEx7Cn
and follow the playlist you will be pretty good.  Take notes though because there are soooo many settings that I get what you mean.  Vray for sketchup seems to be the meat and potatoes of rendering/modeling so I would start there.  Hope that helps!

There are 3 seats left in my Introduction to SketchUp class... more details at the link:
I'll be teaching two classes at Heartwood this year. The spring introduction class has a few seats left, and the fall advanced class focusing on LayOut is just now starting to see applicants. The introductory class focuses on timber frame design – but everything we do is skill building and ...

My plugin for axonometric views and other projections is now published in the extension warehouse. By distorting a group or component and view it from a defined direction this plugin helps creates numerous projections such as isometric, dimetric, trimetric, cabinet and cavalier.

http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/eneroth-axonometric-projection
This plugin is used to emulate axonometric views by distorting a group or component and viewing it from a defined direction. Useful for technical and architectural drawings. Called from Extensions > Eneroth Axonometric Projection.

Two of my new plugins have been published to the extension warehouse.

The first helps you with scaled perspectives, e.g. a section through a  building that is to scale but with the interior behind it viewed as a perspective. This can be useful for showing the rooms inside a building and at the same time allow people to measure dimensions (except depth) in the printout.

http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/eneroth-scaled-perspective

The second adds a new camera view similar to Top View except that it bases the rotation of the view of the previous camera position. This is useful for plan views that should align with e.g. a facade instead of having north (green axis) upwards.

http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/eneroth-relative-top-view
This plugin is used to make perspective views scaled on a given plane, e.g. a section through a building to a given scale but with a perspective view of the interior behind. The tool is activated from Extensions > Eneroth Scaled Perspective. Enter desired scale in the dialog window.

Going to share my current project to 3dwarehouse once it is done. It is a vehicle without wheels (you can download wheels from 3dwarehouse and insert them into this model!)

Any one else use Sketchup to prepare drawing for stair production? This is what I've done.

I did, ......created two stairs for my new house.
Then ordered them. They were redrawn in the shops own application but conform all my wishes!
I then installed them later, fitted perfectly.
These objects can best be done in an accurate 3D environment,..... like with SketchUp. realtime rendering etc.
You'll be able to spot mistakes before ordering anything without having a clue how they will look.

Which Laptop PC should I get for using Sketch Up 2014? I am using an older Laptop.

Does anyone know of any good screenshots of Google SketchUp creations that show entire neighborhoods recreated with the software? The larger the area depicted, the better!

On the desktop... a quick model to help out an engineer friend so the designer can get a sense of the size / design of a barn that is being re-purposed into a house.

Some hand sketches from the barn contractor with a few dimensions, some site photos, and a general guess at some dimensions. +SketchUp PhotoMatch and placing a few images as textures helped me rough out the shape / size / scope.

Hello friends of good taste. I leave here Part 8 of course V-Ray for sketchup. In this video we discussed the issue of displacement in our render. Blessings. https://youtu.be/37SbUYLfwmo?list=UUd8RP9YeMDw0Tb-w3gr6qtg

Two more of my plugins are now published.

The first creates all faces that can be created from the edges, either in the current drawing context or inside a selected group or component. This can be useful when importing wireframe models only consisting of lines or for creating the cut faces for a section cut.

http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/eneroth-face-creator

The second one was created for my most recent school project and moves all vertices in the selected group/component to make the old x coordinate represent the radius and the old y the angle in a cylindrical coordinate system. I wrote this script to easier draw a spirally building and be able to use the native tools, such as the scale tool, more easily to create the shape I wanted.

http://extensions.sketchup.com/en/content/eneroth-spherical-coordinates
Creates every possible face that can be created from the edges in the current selection or in the whole active drawing context when there is nothing selected. Runs recursively on groups and components. Video of Eneroth Face Creator. Eneroth Face Creator. Creates all possible faces from the ...

I have not been able to get my Space Navigator (SN) working with Sketchup 2015. No matter which assistance I have attempted, I have only gotten to a useless SN. Do any of you know what halts the loading of the driver?

Sandbox does it. create the contours, select them and then the sand box tool "from contours" under the draw menu. You'll need to define both sides of the contour. Basically it subdivides the planes.
