In our District we are starting a Business Incubator program this fall. (http://incubatoredu.org/) Although we have four high schools in the district, we are opening this program to seniors from any school. The program was built at one of our schools who championed the cause. We were fortunate enough to find business partners in the community to split the costs of creating the classroom which looks completely unlike a normal classroom and more of a collaborative 21st Century classroom. It's gorgous! See my tweet from today. We purchased the curriculum from a group from Barrington, IL for a cost of $25,000 which is renewed yearly at $10,000. It's a remarkable curriculum and includes assessments, PD, and personal contact with their group. The idea is that students will conceptualize, research, market analyze, and develop an actual business plan. There is a lot of community involvement in this process with local business leaders particpating as coaches and mentors. I can't say enough good things about it with our experience. Perhaps it might have a place in your district, too. They have programs in many districts across America already despite only starting this about 5 years ago.

Could we start by sharing something we are really excited about? Our team just put this together - a way for every teacher in every grade to feel like they are meaningfully contributing to our district goal of an ACT composite of 25. Would love feedback!
