I did not see this coming! Thank you Ralphie!!!

Stars Fans,

The Dallas Stars have reached the end of an era, as Ralph Strangis has informed us that it is time for a fresh start. We have agreed to release him from his current contract so that he may pursue new opportunities and find balance for work and life in another setting. In my discussion with Ralph about his decision, it was clear to me he had spent a lot of time thinking about this difficult choice and felt it was the right time in his life to make a change. While it is a sad day for the Stars, we are thankful for all that Ralph invested of himself in this team and wish him happiness and success in the next chapter of his life.

Over the last 25 years, Ralph's voice has been connected with nearly every significant moment in our franchise's history. From the North Stars' surprise Stanley Cup run in 1991 to Brett Hull's iconic overtime goal in Buffalo and Mike Modano becoming the all-time leading American-born scorer, his passion for the game allowed hockey fans to feel like they were truly part of these moments. His voice will forever be attached to so many memories etched in our minds.

Originally paired with legendary North Stars broadcaster Al Shaver as his color analyst for the club's final three seasons in Minnesota, Ralph made the move to Texas. Making his home in North Texas since 1993, he spent the first three seasons as an analyst and in 1996-97, became the team's play-by-play announcer partnering with Daryl Reaugh. Over that time, Ralph has become one of the most recognizable figures in the sports media scene. More than just a broadcaster, Ralph Strangis is part of the fabric of Dallas and the Stars due in no small part to his countless charitable efforts and willingness to embrace our fan base.

Ralph and Razor cemented themselves as the best broadcast duo in the NHL and one of the best in the history of the Metroplex. The pair earned numerous awards during their tenure with the Stars including six Lone Star Emmys, a Dallas Press Club Katie, and four Associated Press Awards. For the past 19 seasons, Ralph and Razor were instrumental in helping grow our sport in the state of Texas through their one-of-a-kind broadcast chemistry.

On behalf the entire Dallas Stars organization, I wish Ralph nothing but the best in his future endeavors. No matter where his next adventure takes him, he will always be a Dallas Star.

Sincerely,

Jim Lites

The Stars’ penchant for hip surgery this spring has a lot to do with lessons learned and with improved technology, as the team is adopting a philosophy to take care…

Been a while but wanted to share this. Wish our captain the best. We will make it next year!!
While the Stars' captain couldn't lead his team into the postseason, Jamie Benn has burst onto the scene as one of the NHL's elite players.

No playoffs but something to be excited about again. If Jamie won I'd be happier than a two puckered dog! :) Tavares and Crosby do have more games than Jamie left :/

+Fred Allen I'm obviously not happy with Seguin being out for so long but your idea wouldn't work. What about accidents or clean hits that result in an injury?

What if one of our players injures someone and we lose that player for weeks?! It works both ways.

This article has interesting information and videos of the Stars win over the Bruins.
http://thehockeywriters.com/stars-dominate-bruins-with-short-handed-goals/
Despite bad penalties and poor power play attempts, the Dallas Stars opened scoring with a short-handed goal, and ended it with one fluky empty netter.
