About this community

In order to be accepted into this community you must actively be posting to Google + so do not keep all your posts private. The community is a forum for serious discussions of photography as an art form, including themes which are taught in every art school as a part of the basic curriculum. We share ideas about the history of photography, composition, symbolism, the meanings expressed by images, and trends in the world of art that have influenced photography - topics that are not often explored in other groups. Because the community is devoted to artistic aspects of photography, please add some details on how and why you shot or edited the images that you post. Similarly, we encourage members who comment on images to describe what inspired them in that particular picture or what alternative style of composition or design they would have chosen.
