A record we did with our worship band musicians... not a worship style, but but just for fun !!!

It's official: I'm now on the worship team at Bethany Church's new Houma campus! Check out these guys: www.bethanyworship.com

Hey there everyone. I am thinking about putting together some music for the young preteens and teens to learn as a group and then hopefully perform at church/lead worship. Anyone have any recommendations for songs they will like that aren't too difficult to learn.

Pedalboard V. 2.0 coming up soon. Yes, it's based on a Chemistry Design Holeyboard... a combination of their huge square one, and the curved smaller one (a square small one). Eventually the amp switch will get moved up top and replaced with a custom midi controller. Also looking to add a Boss RV-6 for ambient stuff.

Whew. Fun!

Wanted to share this with you folks... here's a cover of Paul Baloche's "How Great Thou Art" that I did all the instruments on. Enjoy!

The most recent setup. Can't wait to use it live.

Some interesting developments:
It looks like I'm going to be dismantling my current pedal board (which was built for solo playing) and rebuilding it for stage use with a band soon. I'm auditioning for a church that's launching here, and may very well end up on the worship team. I'm going to be playing/singing 3 songs:
* Phil Wickam's "This is Amazing Grace"
* Hillsong Y&F's "Alive"
* Bryan & Katie Torwalt's "Holy Spirit"
This should give you an idea of what kind of stuff we'll be playing. Auditions are May 19th. I could use some prayer! I feel God is opening this door, and I want to do my best.

I never really "finish" songs like this, but I think it's at a point where I'm going to stop working on it. I really like this arrangement (even though I played too many notes on it). I also enjoyed exploring some of the middle position sounds of my Cobra making this. It starts with both humbuckers split in parallel and at the end both pickups on full in parallel.

I also have charts for this if any one is interested.
Cheers

Thought I would try something a little different. I scored a Seymour Duncan JB and jazz in a trade about a year ago and hadn't done anything with them. Finally decided to put them in my Squier classic Vibe strat. Definitely some nice pickups, no wonder they are the favorites of Mr Duncan.

I picked up this baby as a fixer-upper at Goodwill for $15. I took it home, cleaned it up, took it all apart to see what needed work, and the answer was: nothing. I peeled the plastic off the pick guard and put new strings on it and it's just fine. It even plays decently.

I read a bunch of reviews of this guitar; it's low-end junk, basically, and the vast majority of the reviewers couldn't get it to stay in tune. They suspected a faulty nut. I haven't had that problem, in fact it stays in tune as well as any of my others. And while the pickups are cheap, they put out a decent sound. I got it all set up last night and I think I'm going to hang on to it for a while and see what it can do.

Because yes, I have too much free time...
