With a good forecast for flying today, 8 pilots lined up and enjoyed some great "Stick Time" in perfect (if not a little overcast) conditions

BRCC has thanks to the dedication and determination of our Chairman Ken Mann, found a new home.
These images show the progress of his dream becoming a reality.
Ken has spent months in his quest to locate a suitable site to lay down a first class runway, and suitable "Pits Area".
The old site fondly known as the "Hill" is now closed.
A BIG thank you Ken from all the BRCC members for the time, effort, negotiations and plain "hands-on" hard work you have put into making BRCC a truly First Class Flying Club.

Some fierce trading has been going on behind the scenes in our members hangers.
The net result is that Dave is now the proud owner of this magnificent Yak, powered by a 57cc gas engine manufactured by MT Engines, fitted with a can type silencer, which takes that heavy bark out of the engine.
Itching to get this plane airborne, Dave traveled to the old Louis Botha airport on Sunday Nov 6th, where Mark Savage, having checked out the throws etc. took to the sky.
What a sight, smooth taxi, gentle take off, then climbed high into the overcast sky.
Having trimmed the plane, Mark handed it over to Dave, who then flew it like an old pro! Followed by two textbook landings and a take-off.
Then the weatherman sent us packing................ wow! did it rain.

Our Club Fly-in Day on Saturday Nov 5th was short lived due to unpleasant and unfavorable weather conditions.
Many of our members did take to the sky and did their best to entertain the visitors at the Official opening of the Ballito VW franchise new premises, situated adjacent to our field.

It was great to visit the "Hill" again this morning after such a long absence, and although the S/W breeze was keeping the windsock very busy (almost tearing it it off it's pivots ) We flew some exciting flights, and had even more challenging landings!
Thanks to Fred Stark and Peter Frankle for joining me and the ladies on the "Hill", for coffee, shortbread and some good fellowship.

Well it's been a hectic few weeks with some awesome flying days, giving us the opportunity to enjoy our hobby to the fullest, like Sunday afternoon of June 12th, when 6 pilots spent the afternoon flying powered aircraft and gliders till the sun dipped in the west. Followed by Retiree's Wednesday - "Stunning"
Then this magic weekend!
What more can one say "Come fly with us" and enjoy the freedom of the skies....
