Weeds and students and learning...a #reflection   #clmooc   #photography   #teaching #learning
I've been pretty obsessed with weeds over the last few weeks.  These much maligned plants are resilient, tenacious, and often quite beautiful...traits I admire. On my way home from work today I not...

If you're lucky and watch carefully, you get to watch the birth of a writer. #clmooc   #writing   #teaching
Writing is hard.  Teaching writing is harder. And every once in a while the effort of teaching writing and supporting and inspiring writers comes together in ways that make your heart sing and tear...

Dear Colleagues,

It was so wonderful meeting you all in the Making Learning Connected online collaborative event last year that we are planing to do it again! As part of the Summer of Making and Connecting, Making Learning Connected 2014, will be offered by the Educator Innovator Initiative and powered by the National Writing Project and YOU.

We hope to have sign-ups for this year's event open by April 15th. #CLMOOC itself will run for 6 weeks from mid-June to the end of July. And we hope to make it as massive, open, collaborative and as participatory as ever.

To that end, we would love your help letting folks know about the opportunity. In fact, we are gathering slides* to let others know what they can expect to find here when they go to sign up. We'd love your help in putting this together. Here's how.

1. Visit this Google Presentation titled "What We Made at Making Learning Connected" https://docs.google.com/a/nwp.org/presentation/d/1uQ6oaoY6YUu8n-MehwU_pRD0KlzgEScbDG86wYDJLWw/edit#slide=id.p
2. Click the new button under the File menu
3. Find a piece of media to illustrate "What We Made" last summer and/or over this past year. You can use an image, video, animated GIF, audio, etc. (Make sure to cite the resource.)
4. GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT! Make sure to include your name, a link to your website, or twitter account so people can follow you, or connect with you later

Thank you! And we look forward to connecting and and making with you again this summer.

#clmooc

(Thank you to #etmooc 's "25 Definition of Connected Learning" for the inspiration and model for this project.)

peter taylor originally shared:

At this hangout event we will think, listen, and share about the state of our learning in the Learning Creative Learning2 MOOC, http://learn.media.mit.edu/ .
The second week (March 25-27) we will pay special attention to the "Orient" step of a MOOC (or any course) -- Orient yourself to the course materials.
In following 5 weeks, as long as people keep joining the sessions, there will be similar hangouts about the state of our learning, paying special attention each week to 5 more steps of MOOC involvement: Declare, Network, Cluster, Focus, Reflect.  (The sequence here combines 5 steps identified by Dave Cormier, Success in a MOOC with pre- and post- steps added by Felicia Sullivan, http://bit.ly/moocsteps .)
Host: Peter Taylor, whose experience in LCL 2013 led to http://collabex.wikispaces.com, which addresses the needs of online learners who want to dig deeper, make “thicker” connections with other learners, and connect topics with their own interests.  (If the time does not suit, look for allied hangouts at other times during the week: Weds 4pm, Thurs 9am, 8pm.  Note: The USA will be on summer time.)
Think, listen, share on our learning process in the Learning Creative Learning2 MOOC
