ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT JOBS
(IN PROGRESS)

What are “Jobs”?
--------
In most MMORPGs, after you create your character you are asked to select a role. You might be given a choice between a healing based class, a ranged attack class, or a class more geared toward keeping your party out of harm’s way. Those are considered are considered jobs.

What is a job sphere?
--------------
Upon receiving a student house, a student is then sent to an evaluation. Based on what weapon they choose and how they perform, they are given a job sphere that corresponds with their ability.

Do I have to keep my job sphere on me at all times?

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HOUSES

What are "Houses"?
--------------------------------
The best way to describe "Houses" is that they are groups. Each student is sorted into a "House" based on personality or skill.

How are students sorted?
----------------------------------------
On the first day of school, each new student goes to the assembly hall. They are then asked to come to the stage where they are presented with the original keyblade. Depending on which form it takes after the student grabs it, determines what house they are sorted into it.

How many "Houses" are there?
-------------------------------------------------
There are four "Houses".

What are the four "Houses"?
-------------------------------------------------
The four houses are Ultima, Oathkeeper, Oblivion, and Monochrome.

Students of the Ultima house are skilled at both magicks and techniques. They are considered the top house. Most students in this house posses a keyblade. It is very rare for someone outside of this house to possess one.

Some personality traits that determine whether or not a student is sorted into Ultima are:
-Adaptable
-Disciplined
-Elegant
-Free-thinking
-Innovative
-Perfectionist
-Stern
-Domineering

Students of the Oathkeeper house are generally more skilled at magicks than most other houses. Most students in this house choose to wield staves, wands, or other ranged-type weapons. That isn't to say they won't wield close combat weapons.

Personality traits that may land a student in Oathkeeper are:
-Intelligence
-Creative
-Artful
-Scholarly
-Rational
-Practical
-Curious

Students of the Oblivion house are mostly skilled with techinques. Students in this house generally prefer sword, shield, or just general close ranged weaponry. Most students in other houses do not like students in this house due to their personality traits.

Some personality traits that may end with a student being sorted into Oblivion include:
-Sarcastic
-Arrogant
-Ambitious
-Cunning
-Manipulative
-Persuasive
-Charismatic
-Self Sufficient
-Spontaneous

Students of the Monochrome household are considered "average". Some may bloom later in their four years, but a majority remain average. They are considered wild cards. The Oblivion and Ultima households often belittle this house.

Personality traits that may cause a student to end up in Monochrome are:
-Honorable
-Courageous
-Kind
-Hardworking
-Passive
-Quirky
-Protective
-Emotional

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT QUESTS

Quests? What are they?
------------------------------------
Quests are pretty much errands that a resident or a teacher- hell maybe even a fellow student, would like for you to complete. Upon completion of the quest, you may receive gil, ingredients, new equipment, materia, or useless junk. Always be sure to check the reward info! You don't want to be going out to subdue a Titan summon for only 200 gil!

What are the different types of quests?
-------------------------------------------------------------
Quests are sorted into five different classifications; Extermination, Delivery, Acquisition, Crafting, and Escort.

Extermination quests require the student to kill a certain number of monsters.

Delivery quests require the student to play postman and transport an item of sorts to someone else.

Acquisition quests may require a student to slay monsters for a particular item. They may even require a student to gather ore, plants, bugs or fish.

Crafting quests require a student to make certain items. Theses are usually made by a student's "sub-class".

Escort quests require a student to escort a person to a specified location.

What are "quest grades"?
---------------------------------------
Quest grades are different from classification. Each quest is given a difficulty rating ranging from F to S (F being the least difficult; S being the most difficult).

What are "quest rules"?
---------------------------------------
In order to prevent smug novice students from going out and getting themselves killed, a few rules have been put in place to prevent this.

QUEST RULES
I. Students classified as Rank I-IV may only undertake a grade A-S only after a teacher signs off on it.(More than likely, a teacher will not sign off for I-II.)

II. Students classified as Rank I-IV may not undertake a grade A or higher quest unless accompanied by least one Rank V-VI and either two Rank VII-VIII.

III. A-S quests may NEVER be taken solo under any circumstances and MUST be taken with a group of FOUR.

What if I fail a quest?
----------------------------------
While it is highly unlikely that you fail a grade F through C, but in the event you do, you will receive a "mark". If you receive three (3) marks, you will be prohibited from taking a new quest for two days in real time. The only way to clear a mark is to complete two (2) quests. Obviously if you are banned from taking quests for two days, you cannot clear your marks!

How may quest must I complete in order to rank up?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*NOTE: All quests per rank are independent of each other, meaning that once you hit the next rank, your quest count goes back down to zero. You may not exceed your year's maximum rank.

To rank up from I to II, you must complete 10 quests.

To rank up from II to III, you must complete 15 quests.

To rank up from III to IV, you must complete 20 quests.

To rank up from IV to V, you must complete 25 quests, 10 of which must be B+.

To rank up from V to VI, you must complete 40 quests. 20 of which must be B+, 15 of which must be A+, and 5 of which must be S.

To rank up from VII to VIII, you must complete 50 quests. 25 of which must be A+, and 25 must be S.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MATERIA

What is Materia?
--------------------------
Materia is essentially strange glass orbs infused with different Magicks or summons.

How does one use Materia?
--------------------------
Materia is activated by having the materia in your possession and by saying the name of the materia. Only very few people have achieved mastery of materia- which allows for the user to use the materia without it being in their possession and not having to say the name of the materia.

What are the different Materia Ranks?
------------------------
Materia is classifies into different ranks based on its destructive power, or rather, just power in general. For safety purposes, a student must hit a certain rank for the school to issue, or allow, a student to use certain materia. No one wants a novice summoning the Lord of the Whorl and not being able to control it! Students can increase their ranks by doing "quests" which is mentioned in another post.

How many ranks are there?
-----------------------------
There are eight ranks associated with materia. The highest first years can go, without exception, is Rank II. The highest second years can reach is Rank IV. The highest third years can reach is Rank VI. The highest fourth years can reach is VIII. Most Rank VII & VIII materia are extremely hard to find.

In order to keep Monochrome Dreams fun, there are a few rules that must be followed:

RULES & JUNK:

I. Cursing is allowed, but don't overdo it.

II. This may be known by now, but don't auto-hitting ruins things. Don't do it.

III. Romance is allowed, but for the love of Arceus, don't make it the main focus. Anything passed kissing and cuddling must be taken to PM.

IV. Don't leave anyone out. The only thing that hurts worst than being bullied is social exclusion.

V. That being said, don't bully people OOC. If you have a problem with someone, bring it to the attention of me or a moderator.

VI. Don't be extremely OP. Ultima students may be the strongest, but they are still only human.

VII. ONLY HUMAN OCS. NO NEKOS, NO FURRIES, NO HALF BLAH BLAHS. ONLY HUMAN.

VIII. Please use "" to indicate talking.
