I'm trying to import the Gerrit source code to IntelliJ. I have buck version v2016.03.28.01 installed on my Mac 10.10. I'm on stable-2.12 branch of Gerrit.
I tried 'buck project' and 'buck project --experimental-ij-generation'.
Both failed with error
gerrit/gerrit-acceptance-framework/BUCK", line 54, in <module>
java_sources(
NameError: name 'java_sources' is not defined

Can someone please help if I'm missing any configuration here. Or is there any better way to import the project in IntelliJ

I could get it resolved. As the doc says, The best way to create a IntelliJ project is to create eclipse project and import it to IntelliJ. To create a eclipse project, we have a script in tools/eclipse/project.py

GitHub is the go-to place to host your open source projects, that much is well known. But we moved away from GitHub and in the end we benefitted hugely!

+Bruce Zu glad to have direct feedback, reducing hops and latency makes a lot of difference. Unfortunately it'll be slightly slower for people in Germany ;-)

We're seeing an issue where Gerrit replication to a Gitlab instance is setting the commit user to the generic id used to do the replication, instead of the actual user id of the person who did the commit.

Any ideas on how to get the correct users record on the replicated side?

Hi all,

I have a issue where after i code review and submit my code, it says it had successfully merged into the git repository. On the local copy inside the gerrit server the commit has been merged, but on github it's not reflecting.

Can someone help with what's going wrong ?

Whats the recommended / best way to create a new project when we have Github plugin installed and replication enabled.
I can import the projects already created in GH to Gerrit and work on that. The changes submitted also gets replicated to GH. However when I create a new project in Gerrit ( from UI ), it doesn't get replicated in the GH. Some text says, we should create an empty project in GH and import in Gerrit. Wanted to check with community if this is the only / best way to create a new project in Gerrit ?

Thanks +Luca Milanesio for the quick response. We are setting up Gerrit as one interface to our team and revoking any permission from GH. Users should be able to create projects / clone and replicate the changes from Gerrit to Github. I understand the easiest way, but was wondering is it even possible the other way. I see text here https://review.typo3.org/plugins/replication/Documentation/config.html which says its possible and should happen OOB. Where the other discussion here https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/repo-discuss/MNut43sezGE completely denies this. As matter of fact, I want to get the new project replicated from Gerrit to GH, which I'm not able to yet.

It may seems obvious and trivial ... but apparently not for everyone as I received many queries on how to do it :-)

When and why? We wrote yesterday about the GitEnt-Scm.com shutdown due on April 30th, 2016. Now the issue you would be facing is: how to migrate somewhere else? Although StackOverflow already conta…

Hello Gerrit community,

my boss asked me to get him feedback about tools that would cooperate with Gerrit and give him statistical data about progress, so he can track business perspective.

I am not that much technical person (I only have background in tests), but my boss saw my ambitions and gave me this task.
Could any of you be kind enough to hint me with possibilities? Maybe there are tools that could be integrated with Gerrit?

I would be grateful for any support!

Best regards,
PG

Not sure if I understand your ask. Though Gerrit can be integrated with Github, Jenkins, JIRA, Bugzilla, Slack etc. We have plugins for most of these integrations.

The new issue after i code review and submit it, it says it had successfully merged into the git repository. On the local copy inside the gerrit server the commit has been merged, but on github it's not reflecting.
