Welcome to the Google Educator's Group of Ohio - GEG-Ohio! This community is dedicated to connecting, inspiring, and empowering educators in Ohio to use technology to improve teaching and learning and to impact our students.

Please take a moment to add a post to the community introducing yourself. Also, please pass this information along to other educators in Ohio and encourage them to join us here.

If you are not familiar with what a GEG is, here is the basic information:

GEG (Google Educator Groups) is a program supporting communities of educators who learn, share, and inspire each other to meet the needs of their students through technology in the classroom and beyond. GEG empowers educators around the world to expand their social and professional networks and gain skills to deliver the best possible education through open technology. GEG takes place both online and offline, and provides a space for educators to build relationships, collaborate, and learn through Google+ communities and hangouts or in-person events and workshops. Whether you’re a teacher, professor, or principal, anyone is welcome to join GEG to learn. Each GEG is organized by a local volunteer (GEG leader) and is entirely independent from Google. For more information about GEG in general, you can visit the GEG program website at: http://www.google.com/landing/geg

Howdy! My name is George Garrett and I am an educator at Mathews High School just outside of Warren. I teach technology courses to junior high and high school students. I have used Google Apps in education since 2007 as both a teacher and administrator. I am very excited to have this group to encourage regional organization and learning!

About this community

Welcome to the Google Educator's Group of Ohio (GEG Ohio)! GEGs are independently run communities of educators who inspire and empower each other to meet the needs of students through technology both in the classroom and beyond. Via face to face meet-ups and online activities, GEGs provide a way for educators who are passionate about education and technology to meet like minded people and share, learn, and collaborate together.
