What do you think of LinkedIn?

-- Not the greatest Social Media Site... but should not be ignored. Since purchasing SLIDEshare THEY HAVE BECOME MORE OF A REAL "FACTOR".

Mortgage brokers and lenders....read how you can benefit from engaging on Google+.  Great post here by my real estate friend +Bill Gassett.

Read, +1, and share ==> http://www.veteransunited.com/realestate/can-mortgage-industry-succeed-google/

I would highly suggest this group start engaging  with one another here on Google+.....we can only benefit from the shares and +1's.

And don't worry about whether a loan officer can originate in your state....stop looking at everyone as a competitor.  For example, if you share great content from +Veterans United, it doesn't mean a potential borrower or local home buyer/owner is going to work with them....you are the local guy.

Whether you are branding a company, an image or reputation... Loving what you do matters.  Life isn't simply putting food on the table and having a roof over our heads.  Successful people usually are possessed with what they love to do... Ask  yourself do you love what you do???

What is everyone's opinion on this? Ability to repay is pretty vague, but this feels like it goes a little too far.

Are you all using Google+ to it's full potential for business purposes? I have found this to be extremely useful in the #mortgage  business, especially for organizing and communicating with contacts. I think Google is trying to figure out a way to give professionals most of the benefits that LinkedIn has to offer and the social benefits that Facebook has to offer, and they will probably only improve. Thoughts?

TGIF mortgage Plussers. Found this fascinating piece on +GigaOM about "a new breed of lenders." No, they're not cyborgs, but they do check borrower social media pages before signing off on a loan. If employers do it, why not lenders? Have you?
