SPED FRIENDS! I am on the hunt for materials I can put in a folder specifically for one of my students on the Autism Spectrum. He is high functioning, but struggles behaviorally in the classroom (repetitive behaviors like spinning, touching others, crying loudly, running out of class, and talking to himself etc.) He also refuses to do work on many occasions and will only draw. He is in a regular 4th grade classroom (with no para) and spends about 3 hours a day in resource. He came from a self-contained classroom at a different school last year, but my district makes it very hard to place students in that setting (for GOOD reasons). I am looking for more resources that might be useful to place in a "mainstreaming" folder. I have made a daily schedule for it and a cool down sheet, but I'm wondering what else might be useful?! We are working on implementing a daily sticker chart for him. Any ideas you have will be greatly appreciate! Tag a friend who might be able to share something!! Thank you! :) #iteachsped #weteachsped #teachersfollowteachers

Hi ladies, I have a blog question! I finally decided to start my blog. So here goes: How long is TOO long of a post?? I tend to be a talker...
Also: In a post I am working on I discussed something I read in an NEAToday article. If I explain where I saw this information, is that enough? Or do I need like a work cited at the bottom??
Thanks!

Hey everyone! Join me this Saturday at 10am PST for #SPEDChatSaturday on Periscope. We'll be talking all about ways to communicate with and work with General Education teachers. I'm going to share my mainstreaming folders I give to my mainstream teachers at the beginning of the school year. We'll talk all about collaboration and how to be apart of a team with those gen ed teachers you are working with.

I'm going to share a blog post about this topic and would love for you to link up. How do you collaborate with your gen ed staff? Get your blog posts ready and be ready to link up on Saturday morning on my blog: www.aviewintomyclassroom.blogspot.com

Spread the word about the Periscope and please come join me. I'd love to make it as interactive as possible.  Here's an image to share on social media.

Thanks guys! "See" you Saturday morning!
