Monument Valley - The North Window

Here's a sight that is probably not shown too often.  I decided to get my Pathfinder muddy and take a drive down into the valley and drive around the monuments.  The last time I tried this the road was closed and I was only able to get as far as the entrance to John Ford Point.  I was actually surprised it was open this time, as there was torrential rainfall the previous evening and one of the dirt roads was partially washed away.  It's hard to go wrong when photographing things down in the valley.  It's like a wonderland for adults and especially adults with cameras.  Last, I always try my level best to geo locate my images.  So, if you ever wonder exactly where I was standing to take the shot, please look at the details in the menu off to the right when viewing a photo.

An excerpt from our latest photo blog "The Religious Nature of Walking":
"...I have long brought cameras with me on my ventures in nature in an effort to record a tangible piece of time, a slice of solitude that I can bring with me when I make my way back to the imprisoned minds of society. My photographs serve as a reminder to me of the silence and religion that reside on an open trail. They form the chapters in my bible; a testament to the religious nature of walking one foot after another."
