HOW TO MAKE GUMMY BEARS USING GELATIN
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup fruit juice
3 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1-2 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional)
STEP 1:
In a small sauce pan, whisk juice, gelatin and fresh lemon juice until all lumps have disappeared. If you want to use sugar or honey, add those now, too.
STEP 2:
Heat the liquid over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until all the gelatin has melted. It should look completely smooth and glassy. Make sure not to let it boil!
STEP 3:
Pour the liquid into a measuring cup with a spout and carefully pour the liquid into your molds.
STEP 4:
Let cool at room temperature for 5 minutes, then place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, depending on the size of your mold cavities. I like to pop them out of the molds and let them dry out more, about an hour, at room temperature. Store in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
If you find that your gummies are a bit sticky, place them in a colander, sprinkle a little bit of cornstarch over them and shake them around to remove excess cornstarch.
