At Indiana Alpha (Purdue University), we got a pretty good response rate for our Balanced Man Scholarship applications.   280 total, as shown in the chart below.

We started with a deadline of June 21, the revised it to July 3.  The peak immediately AFTER the original deadline showed something surprising.  Those who put it off, waiting to the last minute, missed the original deadline.  The extension allowed us to pick up those immediately, then the pattern returned to its normal flow for the remainder of the open application period.

I'd be interested if there are other SigEps out there who conclude differently from my read of the data.
