Minimalism vs. Skeuomorphism: Better option for designing?

Skeuomorphic design, once everyone's favorite, had one issue that led to its downfall i.e. clutter.
This led designers to start searching for and experimenting with different designs for a better user interface, to in turn improve their site’s user experience. Thus, resulting in the trend for minimalistic designs trend.

But what do you think is a better option in terms of aesthetics and usability: Is it Minimal or Skeumorphic?
