In my blog on IndiaPalette.com I'm telling about what it's like to be pregnant in India.

The main difference between being pregnant in India and in my country is that you don’t have to visit million specialists and go through million procedures.

Have you heard about Ringya? it's a great new smartphone app that's perfect for busy moms and dads! It turns class lists, work contacts, sports team rosters, and club/association membership lists into organized, sharable digital "rings". Just snap a picture of the contact list or email it to Ringya and let the app do all the work - no more tedious typing! You can also use Ringya as a message board or to chat with the contacts in your rings. With Ringya, the next time your plans suddenly change, due to inclement weather, traffic snarl, working late unexpectedly, etc., those important phone numbers that you need will be right at your fingertips instead of at home on the kitchen counter and you will be able to easily connect with your contacts. Save yourself some time, effort, and sanity and download Ringya today - it's free! Check out Ringya.com for more information.

Yamini is a young author. She says, "Dad is responsible for my love of reading", she says. “He nurtured my interest in books, read a lot to me, spent time choosing books.” When they lived in London, he would take her to musicals and movies based on books. “Through me he is also writing, can't thank him enough.”

What about your children? Are you helping them read story books?

Make your children read a lot and they might become writers too :-)
Young author Yamini Prashanth makes her debut as a writer with Mishti, a humorous account of the happy-go-lucky life of a pre-teen girl, to be launched on October 18

I am clearing my stock of Phonics Games sets. The cost is Rs. 1500 for four boxes + courier charges.

I am planning to give away a limited number of Phonics Games Sets which includes 500 picture cards and 80 boards. These are meant for pre-primary children but have been found very useful with autistic children and other special needs children. Post a comment if you or anyone you know work with children and would be interested in trying these out. I can ship domestic/international if you are willing to pay the shipping cost.

This is a huge and exciting milestone for our small organization, and we can’t do it alone! I am imploring each and every one in my community of friends and family to share this video to your friends and networks, and personally urge them to share it as well. I need as many eyes as possible to see our campaign and we need to make it go viral!

"The television also can serve as a valuable tool. Talk about what the child is watching. Have him or her guess what might happen next. Talk about the characters. Are they happy or sad? Ask your child to tell you what has happened in the story. Act out a scene together, and make up a different ending."
