Moonraker build 2 "Operation Orchid" Is almost complete. Had a hickup last night when one of the screens died so that'll have to be replaced, but here's a short video of how it looks now.

Star Destroyer

Nearly done with the big Star Destroyer as I fired up all the lights for the first time together (the four smaller engines will have their own on/off switch). Not long to go before she'll be ready for the auction in November.
Going to leave her lit up for the next 24/48hrs to make one final check on any dodgy leds before sealing the kit up for good.

Hi all, quick update on the Martian War Machine build. I decided to replace the resin cobra neck for some alloy channelling as it looked more realistic. The ship is now finished, I had to spend lots of time fitting, sanding and re sanding the green lighted vac form parts to blend into the ship's body. Now I am building the base and diorama which will include the Martian creatures and the electronic eye. I have added a white smd to the eye using epoxy and painted in the three colours. I will probably frost over them to give a more diffused look to the lenses, I still have the actual body to prime and paint and the umbilical cord to detail and paint. I hope to show you the diorama progress in the next week.

Finally had a chance today to make a little progress on my Bandai UFO Interceptor Applied the light silver metallic paint to the aft part of the ship. Decided on Tamyia's Mica Silver. More to come.

We're getting there!

Started work on the side trenches windows and making pretty good progress so far.

Not having the upper hull in pace is making placement of the FO strands so much easier as once they are in their wee holes a simple cocktail stick/edge of tweezers is used to push the strand flush with the hull. That cuts down dramatically the amount of trimming I have to do.

Once the epoxy is cured the usual masking tape/cable tie is used to stop the whole lot coming apart.
The way this is going now I reckon the model will be finished in about 3 weeks which by then the base will have arrived.

Not much of an update unless you want to see endless pictures of FO strands being threaded through wee holes but as I said we are definately getting there now.

Thanks for watching.

Work continues on my Bandai UFO Interceptor model. So it was brought to my attention by modeler Jim Hands that the back of the Interceptor has these detailed panels. As you can see that the panels are blank with the Bandai kit so I scratch built some detailing. Used bits and pieces of strip styrene from Evergreen Scale models. I think it turned out pretty well.
