Melbourne CBD from Southbank (Aurora HDR 2019)

They say the best camera you have is the one on you, and during a site visit to Melbourne today I thought I would capture this stunning view using my Samsung Galaxy S7 (pano mode). It also gave me a great chance to put the JPEG image through the new Aurora HDR 2019 software (which I am going to do some tutorials on, but incorporates AI and nifty technologies). This image was a bit blown out in the highlights but can’t complain from a JPEG and phone. It was put through the Cityscape preset in Aurora HDR 2019. If you are interested in pre-ordering or checking the software out, an affiliate link is provided; http://trav.to/aurorahdr2019
Captured with a samsung SM-G930F, 4.2 mm, f/1.7

For those are interested, I follow Kickstarter a bit and came across another 'smart trigger' for DSLR Cameras. The campaign went nuts, with a goal of $50,000 USD, they quickly surpassed that and raised $2.65 million. I did an unboxing video which I have put on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCEtW6y21oY and will do a review in the next week or so. The concept behind this device is that it uses machine learning and AI to decide what a picture is of and to optimize the settings based on what it knows of that type of scene, for example, water would typically be slower shutter speed so it will slow it down as much as possible. If handheld, it would speed up to compensate for focal length, shake etc.

One of the benefits of my job is some of the fantastic views I get to see from the Rooftops of some of the cities buildings and surrounding buildings. This was captured from North Melbourne facing the city and consists of a panorama of a number of images stitched into one. Stitched using Autopano Giga, Edited in Lightroom and with Luminar 2018.
