This is quite entertaining. Frustrating, but entertaining.

Frustrated with VLC.
I have a couple of single-file audiobooks. When I go into the VLC playback history, it opens at a much earlier stage than I left off.
It is just nice to have a one-does-all app, but... I don't know.

On the face of it, this looks good. But when an ebook reader wants to access my contacts... what is that? Maybe it is just to be able to share something with people I know, but it does make me wonder.

Picked this up off XDA feed, looks ideal for tablets.

So, how do you consume podcasts:
Stream or download?

This was a bit of fun, a bit "Crossie-Roadie"

This is pretty good. There seems to be a growing number of apps that utilise the status bar.

Any opinions on Google's podcast app? I've just downloaded but haven't delved into it yet. Been a podcast addict user since Google listen was discontinued.

After throwing my 3rd cheap Chinese dash-cam in the trash I finally realised that there should be an app that would let me use my phone as an in-car DVR. I found quite a few but eventually landed on this one.

I usually use my phone with Waze as a navigator so having an extra camera doing a job my phone could easily do at the same time made perfect sense. What I like about this particular app is that it allows you to select a background recording mode which will just tick away in the background while your phone is playing podcasts/music and showing you which way to go. In case you forget to turn it off there's an option to specify the length of the recording in minutes so it will eventually turn itself off without using up all your disk space.

The files are easily transferable to a PC and if you get the Pro version you can record in HD. The Pro version costs a lot less than 3 cheap Chinese dash cams and doesn't come with anywhere near the same amount of frustration and bad design.

Is anyone else using something similar/better?
