You could use this as a guide and put your own twist to it.I have not tried it myself so i can't say if it is good or bad.

Any suggestions on how I should cook chicken thighs in my slow cooker?
Don't want them flavoured. Just plain. I will take meat off them when they are cooked.

Thank you! I have to admit it always looks excessive. I'll be brave and try it without

I have found another reason why I love my slow cooker. Seeing as the weather is turning and its the season to be ill and we have flu and the Sicky bug my slow cooker has been the source of food this week with homemade soups and I didn't have to cook it as such just let the cooker do its job giving me more time for cuddles with my babies. Plus I forgot how nice soups where when I make them in the slow cooker :)

We rarely eat meat at home it's mostly vegetarian or vegan meals. But seeing some reduced beef in the local shop I've got a beef curry in the slow cooker.

What have you got in yours today?

Was it good +Aly Hodge I have a butternut squash on the window sill that I need to use up- can't face preparing it! It's a lovely veg but a pain in the butt to prepare as the skin is so tough.

I'm tempting fate tomorrow by cooking a beef stew, which will be in the slow cooker for more than 12 hours as we're off to London for the day.I wanted to have a decent meal on the go for when we come back.
So my question today is, what is the longest you've ever had something in a slow cooker for?

A timer on the power may tempt fate less. :-)

Today's question.

What disasters have you experienced with slow cookers?

Mine has to be onion relish.Burnt to buggery 3 times.

I had set the slow cooker to cook all night, but the next day, found out that it had died somewhere during the night. So the entire venison stew I had made for my boyfriend's (now hubby) birthday was ruined.

Good morning!
When you look for new slow cooker recipes what do you look for? Popularity, originality, cheap or something else?

I have mostly tired soups and stews and some Indian recipes so far. I have found that sometimes the flavor of tomatoes overpowers the dish. Any tips on adapting cooktop recipes to the slow cooker

Hi!  Just joined this group, my slow cooker made for some great and quick to the table suppers after days on the beach this holiday in Cornwall - am definitely taking mine away with me again next year.  Does anyone else take their slow cooker away with them?!

Chicken and mushroom stew in slow cooker. Recipe says to serve on its own but I think it needs something. What would you serve it with? #slowcooker

Thanks everyone. Me & the kids went for pasta. Mr, who came in later, wanted french fries with it. Which sounded weird but sort of worked. Definitely go with +David A Jamieson suggestion of crusty bread next time.
