I have found another reason why I love my slow cooker. Seeing as the weather is turning and its the season to be ill and we have flu and the Sicky bug my slow cooker has been the source of food this week with homemade soups and I didn't have to cook it as such just let the cooker do its job giving me more time for cuddles with my babies. Plus I forgot how nice soups where when I make them in the slow cooker :)
I'm tempting fate tomorrow by cooking a beef stew, which will be in the slow cooker for more than 12 hours as we're off to London for the day.I wanted to have a decent meal on the go for when we come back. So my question today is, what is the longest you've ever had something in a slow cooker for?
I had set the slow cooker to cook all night, but the next day, found out that it had died somewhere during the night. So the entire venison stew I had made for my boyfriend's (now hubby) birthday was ruined.
Hi! Just joined this group, my slow cooker made for some great and quick to the table suppers after days on the beach this holiday in Cornwall - am definitely taking mine away with me again next year. Does anyone else take their slow cooker away with them?!
Thanks everyone. Me & the kids went for pasta. Mr, who came in later, wanted french fries with it. Which sounded weird but sort of worked. Definitely go with +David A Jamieson suggestion of crusty bread next time.
