Hackathons as the new "show and tell?  I had fun working on this project over the past few months.  What started with on-campus visits from advisors turned into student interviews captured on video.  What the students told me developed into a research paper and then this article.

You really begin to appreciate the power of this system when you see how, working collaboratively, teachers could devise a dozen or more responses to a student's answer to a single question. Each response provides customized feedback to the student who makes a particular mistake.

"The number of students who completed my MOOC is approximately equal to the number of students I've had in the classroom in my entire career."

This resonates with my online versus in-person presentation experience. In 2009, I took a 4-day trip, got on a plane, flew to a conference, stayed in a hotel and gave a talk. Two people came to my session and heard me in person. I then took the same slides, added a voice recording to them, and posted them online. [1] Total cost: about 1 hour of my time. Now, 4 years later, 8299 people have viewed the talk.

In the past I have used Edmodo and Schoology as a LMS for my classrooms.  I have been trying to get my brain around how to use GAFE as a LMS for my classes and my school.  Would anyone be willing to share an example of their LMS to help me see what I am missing?

Thanks is advance.

"The basics can be learned by anybody, starting in elementary school. But fewer than 10% of students try. Only 2% are women. 1% are students of color."
