Friday 10th October marks the 12th World Day Against The Death Penalty Day. This campaign remembers those individuals who have been subjected to this inhumane treatment and also seeks justice for those who face the same fate.

Join us at 6.30pm at Town Hall to sign petitions in support of individuals facing the death penalty and demand for their basic human right, to live, be restored. There will also be a photo opportunity at 7pm that will be used to show our solidarity.

This vigil is a combined effort between the Newtown group, LGBTQI, Women's Network, The Refugee Network and Pitt St groups.

In solidarity

This community is for those that feel passionately about the plight of those that come to Australia (or anywhere for that matter) and seek asylum. It is for the discussion of mental health related issues and discussion of ideas around treatment programs and how to get those that need the help access. I am a clinician in co-existing disorders (mental health & alcohol and drugs) and any opinions that I express here and based on my personal and professional opinion. I do not provide treatment via this community but I do offer discussion on issues surrounding the mental health of refugees and asylum seekers. I have been a little quiet lately due to study and big life events (good ones) but now more than ever I think it's time for these discussions to take place.
