Half year profits at Barclay's rose 43 per cent year-on-year to £1.6bn, promised to accelerate liquid earnings growth and equity return...@financialtimes

The bank also has gone into partnership with “bitcoin exchange”, and aims to begin by the end of the year.
But a compelling question remains: will the overhaul and sweeping layoffs satisfy the bank's restive shareholders?

In Marzahn-Hellersdorf in Berlin, the 24/7 project helps young people between 16 and 25 years old, most of whom have never had a job and many don't even have any school-leaving qualifications.

They get help on writing CVs, applying for jobs and preparing for interviews, as well as gaining more hands-on skills such as painting and varnishing kitchens. Read more on the European Social Fund website: http://ec.europa.eu/esf/main.jsp?catId=46&langId=en&projectId=1638

#IKT   #OpenDocumentFormats
You can now #petition  the European Union to 'fix my document' - open document formats in public institutions
+Opensource.com
http://opensource.com/government/15/2/european-union-fix-my-document

#FixMyDocument
Show your support for open document formats by signing up to the statement below.

By selecting and adopting open document formats, public institutions can:

1. Improve flexibility and ability for public institutions to cooperate efficiently and freely with other institutions, citizens and businesses, allowing them to read, manipulate and exchange information using the software of their choice, avoiding thus exclusion or undue costs imposed upon them.
2. Help create an open environment in public procurement by removing barriers to participation created by the use of proprietary/non-open standards, allowing far more companies (including SME’s) to respond to calls for tenders.

The use of open document formats shifts the value back to the content, rather than the application used to create or view documents. Open document formats are supported by multiple applications and can be safely implemented in any kind of software, avoiding also the risk of losing information stored in a no longer supported proprietary/non-open format.

Given the extreme importance of Open Standards and open document formats in interacting with public institutions – specifically, in guaranteeing universal, non-restricted access to public documents –, public institutions throughout Europe should fully support open document formats and use them in all their exchanges with the public. When they have decided to support open document formats, this decision should be effectively implemented, improving transparency and openness towards their citizens.

Open Forum Europe has initiated an effort to help the European Union (EU) institutions live up to their commitments to support open document formats when communicating with the public. The new fixmydocument.eu is giving a crowd-sourced voice to public frustration with software interoperability limitations that stand in the way of citizens who are seeking to communicate and interact with government.

Our Mission: EU employment and social policies bring practical benefits to citizens, for example, in finding a job, moving to another Member State for work or other reasons, upgrading skills, etc. In partnership with national authorities, social partners, civil society organisations and other stakeholders, the Directorate-General addresses challenges linked to globalisation, the ageing of Europe's population and changing social realities.

Causing discord among governments and more dangerously, among nations, is on the agenda of the global arrogance.
Creating killer, insolent and tyrant Takfiri groups, which Americans have admitted to their role in creating them, is the most important tool for stoking seemingly religious divisions among nations, which unfortunately, some naive Muslims have been fooled by this conspiracy and plot due to their lack of insight and they have been embroiled in the enemy’s plot. 8/17/15

The Greek crisis, as we're meant to call it, has changed my mind about Europe and not in a good way. I was always pro Europe before this episode, but I was always taught, any society must be judged by how it treats it's most vulnerable members and by this yardstick, Europe has come up very short.

It's not as if this has any chance of solving Greece's problems. They will still default in the end and it will surely hurt a lot more after being stretched to breaking point over and over. This was all about the lenders playing the hard guy and I'll find that very hard to forgive.

The +European Commission should be ashamed. They've been no better than shills for the IMF and Germany. It's disgraceful.

Nigel Farage never had much impact on me, but I might well vote to leave the +European Union after this week's sad events.

What do you think about the idea of the Chair of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker for an European army?

We already have one! The GB - army with a- weapons, the French - army with a- weapons. But we have no real Organisation! ONLY with European officers/ generals. We need an infrastrukture to protect our borders , " outside - borders"! It is a very good idea!
Because EUROPE gets stronger and stronger in world- wide Buisiness. I think to develop the NWO , EU would be the best continent! The center of a world - wide NWO! In the moment phase Europe is like a melting - pot! But , if the different countries would stand together , Europe can be a free continant with an old about 2000 Years of "Tradition"! The USA are only about 230 years old! The most people of the US - citizens have their family - roots in Europe! For example: Mr. Bush senior has his family - roots in the German city of KREFELD , the family of Kennedy in Ireland! Let's build up our european house for better living! Let's create a new Europe for living in peace! And to leave in Peace we need a European army like the first democracy in world: the city - state of Athens in Greece! They have had a strong navy and they have protected their freedom successfully against the Persian attackers!

well, it's hard to say if all the 'discriminate' gang take your job, your life, your salary then apply asylum for persecution. And all the poverty group take your money, your company, your car, your house and your lovely ceo wife.

where to sign this petition ?!!
for poverty and discrimination ?!!!
