It is with much regret that we have to announce that Con-Quest Nottingham will have to be postponed. Ticket sales have been poor and several GMs have pulled out.

All interested parties have been informed.

Merchant Taylors’ Hall, Aldwark, York. YO1 7BX
Saturday 17th March 2018.

The Merchant Taylors’ Hall is a medieval Guild Hall full of character and middle ages flavour. It stands with York’s city walls; a lengths run behind the hall itself, and has a splendid forecourt set in serene gardens. It celebrated its 600th year in 2015, though the records prove that the Guild itself has been around since before 1273, it has been carefully restored in recent times to its former glory. Though steeped with history and tradition it has modern amenities and facilities, including a contemporary toilet block, Wi-Fi, and easy access.

It has a timbered Great Hall with ‘candle-lit’ chandeliers, beautiful stained glass windows, and even a small minstrel gallery. The wood beams in the roof space emanate their 600 year history and the grand fireplace is the strong focal point of the hall. This will be the main gaming area with the trader stalls under the great east windows and gaming tables filling the rest of the space. The apex roof vault will carry any undue sound away making this a impressive gaming space for the convention.

The Little Hall has beautiful wood panelling, open beam walls, its own fireplace, and more importantly a fully stocked bar! This will be the open gaming area.

There is also a Masters Room on the first floor with timber framed walls and beams in the ceiling for a more intimate gaming room. This will be ideal for those atmospheric games set in medieval taverns and guildhalls!

Con-Quest Nottingham 2017. Nottingham Hilton Hotel, Milton Street, NG1 3PZ.
Saturday 17th June 2017. 10:00am to 7:00pm.

We are seeking Games Masters to showcase their games.

We endeavour to provide a wide and far reaching games programme for our attendees to showcase what UK role players can offer. We are seeking Game Masters who are passionate about their games and scenarios whether you are experienced or not, confident or shy, running the latest favourite system or an old and familiar game. We want GMs who can not only run games for the hardened veterans of the con circuit but also complete beginners to the hobby, whether they are young children or just young at heart.
To avoid clashes and overlaps the day will be split into two slots for games that will run for either 3.5 hours or four game slots of 90 minutes with a gap in between for food, refreshments, wandering the trade hall, etc.

So we are going for two different styles of gaming slots at Con-Quest.

We will do the regular type of gaming slots with two during the day at 3 and a half hours each.
There are two traditional ‘gaming slots’ –

Slot 1 is 10:00 until 13:30.
Lunch is 13:30 until 14:30.
Slot 2 is 14:30 until 18:00.

We are also going for the shorter demonstration slots for a more rapid games.
There will be four Short Slots of 90 minutes each for quick-fire demos.
Slot A will be 10:00 till 11:30.
Slot B will be 12:00 to 13:30.
Lunch is 13:30 until 14:30.
Slot C will be 14:30 to 16:00.
Slot D is 16:30 until 18:00.

This means that we offer choices over how you play and run your games.
Two demo games in the morning followed by a longer game in the afternoon or switch it around and get a longer game in the morning with two faster games after lunch. Or you could go for four fast games or two longer games during the day. Or spend you time ducking in between the bar and the trade stalls all day.
You get the options to keep your day how you like it.

To register your games before the convention, you will need to email me at the gaming hotline address at darransimsATgooglemailDOTcom and I’ll see to it that you’re booked in with a table and advertised on the website.
Pass on to me the usual sort of details:

GM name
Title of Game
Game System
Game Slot [morning or afternoon?]
Quiet or Display Game? [In a quieter room or in the main hall]
Max Number of Players
Length of Game [either 3.5 hrs or 90 mins]
Short Description [up to 500 words]
Tags [any short, snappy key words, such as age, experience needed, drop in or sign up?]

We’re happy to get any kind of game with a variety of settings or genres for all tastes and gaming philosophies.
From D&D 5e to Fate via Monsterhearts, Pathfinder, 13th Age, and Savage Worlds, traditional to radical, chess to Heroclix, demo game to playtest, Apocalypse World to Zorceror of Zo with a little Call of Cthulhu along the way – label up what you want to run and we’ll do our best to promote it and provide you what you need from the venue.

I appreciate the invite to the group. Alas, unless someone else is footing the bill for travel, I don't like my chances for making it anytime soon.
