Conversations we should all be having, to help close the gender gap in the #postproduction industry. #genderequality
Kylee Wall is an editor currently based out of Atlanta, GA. She has been working hard over the past few years to raise awareness of the issues of sexism that face many women working in post production today. She has written articles on her own blog, as well as, for Creative Cow about the issue (you can read them here and here). In the past, she has pointed out problems that NAB has with companies presenting women as objects and as part of the sal...

5 #postproduction events you don't want to miss at #NABShow . They are great fun, and awesome for meeting industry people.
I’ve been to NAB for the last 4 years. I wouldn’t consider myself a seasoned veteran just yet, but I’ve definitely seen some things. While everyone who goes to NAB will be at the conference floor, and Walter Biscardi has done a great job at preparing all new attendees on his blog post, I decided to focus on what NAB parties and events are a MUST for the post-production industry.

How does Judd Apatow use test screenings to improve his films? What's it like to be a Fixer? Listen to our last part of the interview with David Moritz!
This is the final instalment of our interview with David Moritz. David has worked with some amazing directors, and in this episode we talk about his work in comedy with Judd Apatow. In particular, we discuss ad-libbing and structuring a scene that isn’t scripted.

Part 2 of our interview with David Moritz, on working with Wes Anderson, cutting Bottle Rocket, witnessing the emergence of Anderson's style and more! Watch now: http://goo.gl/wOm5ds
Here’s part two of my interview with David Moritz, originally recorded during Editors Retreat 2015. David’s work began after he started as a music editor and transitioned to editor under the mentorship of Richard Marks. He began working with Wes Anderson when Wes directed his first feature, Bottle Rocket. Since then his career has taken off and he’s become one of the top editors and fixers in the industry.

Do you know what signals you are sending in the cutting room as a professional? #worktips #career #film
The cutting room is a unique beast. It is a location of intense discussion that can turn into debates and can easily devolve into arguments. A place where directors, who have poured their heart and soul into a project, only come to the realization that the project they dreamed of isn’t working.

Sometimes editors also get to be everyday heroes. #thejinx #videoediting #justice
HBOís documentary The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, which explored the crimes of Robert Durst and why he hadnít gone to jail yet ended this week. Iím sure many viewers jaws were on the floor, when Durst went to the washroom, with his lav mic. still on, only to say to himself ìI killed them allî, not realizing he had just admitted to the world that he had murdered Kathleen McCormick Durst, Susan Berman, and Morris Black.

Since humour is the best remedy, we decided to interview the creator of the best industry-inspired .gifs:
Everyday post professionals tackle insurmountable tasks, with obscene hours and many late nights. One could be forgiven for getting a little grumpy in the process. That’s why we should all be thankful for Renderplease.com! Choosing to remain anonymous, this post-production comedienne decided to share her sense of humour with the rest of the post community in the form of a .gif populated tumblr that has post industry professionals coming together ...
