Human Rights Violation

All individuals are entitled to certain basic rights in every part of the world. Irrespective of the circumstances, no one is morally or ethically empowered to take away these basic rights from ordinary citizens. The rights are of different types like political and civil liberty rights. The most fundamental right available to a human being is of right to life and physical safety. Human rights are the expression of the need for human dignity, fairness, acceptance, tolerance and mutual respect. The idea of human rights coveys the scope of justice and morality. Though, many international organizations and country heads emphasize the need of human rights, its violation has always been a common phenomenon in different parts of the world.
No, we are not strangers to violation of human rights in certain countries. Incidents of inhuman acts keep occurring throughout the world. People are being deprived of basic human necessities. Despite the presence of international watchdogs, basic human rights have been taken away in the name of communal discrimination, fundamentalism and racial discrimination. The phenomenon is more rampant in third world countries. Women and children have suffered the most because of these violations.
Types of human rights violation include child trafficking, dowry, sexual harassment, early marriage, child labor, polygamy, genocide, slavery, medical experimentation, war crimes and rape are common. It would be premature to say that right kinds of efforts are not being made to improve the situation but the progress is quite slow. The magnitude of these violations demands drastic measures and some concrete actions. For instance, if we talk about child labor, it is a common social phenomenon in South Asia. These children do not get proper education, food, shelter and treatment. Many a times, their lives are in danger and yet the progress made on this front is far from satisfactory.
Similarly, dowry is a social curse which often leads to killing of the brides. Child trafficking is in existence since ages but do we really see any improvement in this regard? Sexual harassment and rape are barbaric acts of human rights violation taking place in many parts of the globe. Genocide and war crimes assault the fundamental and political rights of the victims.
We must come up with immediate execution of remedial measures to counter the menace of human right violation. They say, justice delayed is justice denied and sooner we realize this, better for the overall welfare of the public.

Teenage Problems

As problems evolve, solutions have to be found. Sometimes there are self improvement programs and other times we need the help of a counselor especially if the problem is chronic or relates to our life style. Teenage problems are several. Just like the child learns to walk steadily or speak a full sentence, teenage also has those pauses which can have an effect on self image. As we grow we develop tendencies in the form of likes and dislikes. This can be minimal in terms of teen health or teenage relationship problems but solutions are applicable every where.
Teenage depression is also temporary but dangerous symptoms can be like withdrawal from routine interests, lack of enthusiasm in hobbies and also seclusion. A parent must constantly assure the teen that things will get better and spending time with them is surely a great reassurance. Hormonal problems get aggravated in teen girls who face the problem of irregular periods and related teenage health problems. These also have side effects on their morale and self esteem and hence it is essential to boost the same.
The glory of youth is seen in small achievements and love sure touches the heart during the teenage. Teenage love problems especially in case of one sided love or unrequited love can have a teenager think of negative happenings. Counseling help is surely available but an environment conducive of helping the teen cope up with the situation is a better alternative. Teenagers constantly require to assured about their looks or certain skills which they are desperate to acquire. Most things are a passing phase and involving themselves in an art class or a healthy social circle solves most of the love problems.

In case a teen has suddenly started a robust attitude then it is his or her internal need to be assertive. Let them blow their top but convey to them with lot of conviction that you are a parent. Be a friend and yet guide them so that they know to respect you. Copying is another teen problem and they love to emulate a celebrity or use their mothers mascara. As a phase this can be allowed with moderation but explain to have their feet firmly on the ground.
A conflict within home that involves separation of parents can be a huge blow to the growing child. This can be internal in terms of unable to help the parents in the situation and at the same time face the values that are set up by the society. Parents here must explain to the child and make time individually so that the teenager is not left out. Being a family can actually help the teenager fight his own battles that rage in their minds.

Gender Violence

Gender violence is a common problem prevailing in almost all the developing countries. Even in India the issue continues unabated creating many hassles and challenges for the social growth. The age old cultural beliefs and tradition have identified various issues of gender-based violence that over the period of time has become a major cause of harassment faced by the women.
The very first issue faced by the women is the marital torture. In the Hindu Law marriage is a religious and sacred knot tied between two bodies, minds, and souls. It is a pure relationship shared between the two then why this high level of purity is subsided by the society. Peep into your family and judge whether your wife, mother, or sister is sharing the same joys and peace of mind as the men of the house? The alleged inability of women to perform all the household duties and responsibilities has triggered the violence. Despite of working with all effort and dedication, they are not able to meet the satisfaction level of their husband and in-laws. Is it that the pressure is more or is it that she is not able to fulfill the said requirements? Time is witness to the heavy job duties and extra responsibilities performed by a woman. In all ways she is physically abused by the tortures of the in-laws, over work at home, taking care of the children, and keeping into mind the needs and demands of every family member. But in return who is taking care of her?
Wife is described as a life-partner but is she actually a partner or has just become a perfect material to serve the man? Since women have taken birth on this earth, she is serving the house without being bothered about her own health and happiness. Some women are even burnt to ashes in lieu of their parent’s failure to fill the pockets of their in-laws. Dowry deaths have become a common and a serious issue these days.

Apart from this, women of the country are also put forward to other social issues like lower education rate, lack of economic independence, and certain values and beliefs operating against them. When the educational rate is lower then definitely their moving out of the four walls is restricted. Lack of education gives them a pathetic lifestyle as they are not aware of the health issues, basic necessities of living, and also unaware of proper nutrition. Lack of education is a major cause of many other social issues that have greatly pressurized womanhood from all aspects of life. There are few women who earn education these days and go out to work but sadly they don’t have a right on their own earning as well. Whatever they earn is also taken away by the husband or the in-laws making them completely dependent.
Researches and reports from the National Crime Records Bureau states that the gender violence in the country is increasing despite of all the measures and initiatives taken by the government and social institutions. According to the report in the year 1999, about 15468 women were raped, 6699 women were killed over dowry, 32311 cases of molestation, 8858 cases of sexual harassment, and 4382 cases of domestic violence. These days even the issue of importation of girls has crippled the society with its damaging and disturbing effects.
In this male dominated society woman is ill-treated since ages and looked upon as a commodity that is used when completely functional and thrown away when fail to function properly. Her independent identity, dignity, self-respect, and pride are all robbed by the society triggering the violence against women. India is growing with leaps and bounds in all aspects and even the economy is progressing but sadly the issue is still prevailing in most areas of the country.
Does anyone have an answer to all these atrocities committed against women? Can anyone give an end to this? Does anyone have the heart to fight for women’s rights and gift them a free, happy, and healthy life? If yes, then move ahead and fight against this ever increasing crime of this country.

Teaching Your Child Important Virtues And Values
The present world seems to be degenerating. Children a losing their innocence earlier than it was in previous generations. They are aware of all that is happening around them. Topics like sex, drugs, etc. that were a hush hush till years ago, is openly spoken about amongst twelve year olds. Crime amongst the youngsters seems commonplace. Why is all this happening?
The answer is simple. Today, parents have no time. After giving birth they feel that their responsibility begins and ends with earning money and paying the fees, buying essentials for their children. It is it actually the parents fault because they also have a pertinent question. How do we survive if we both don’t work? But, at the same time, do not forget that money cannot buy values and virtues that need to be inculcated in children.
Apart from values and virtues such as love, generosity, selflessness, respecting elders, trust and honesty, there are a number of other qualities that need to be taught to them. These include tolerance, acceptance, patience, politeness, sharing, awareness, etc. Also a child must be aware of their cultural background and heritage. Moral Science and Scripture study should be a part of their upbringing. They must learn to understand and speak their own mother tongue before any other language.
Apart from learning their own cultural background they must also be taught about other cultures which will bring about within them religious tolerance and acceptance. Even food habits are what begin at home. They must be taught to respect each morsel given to them, as after al your hard work has gone into feeding them. They must respect the value of money.
