Papyros is a dead project, it merged with lirios. You are beating a dead horse...

Hi! I finally got a chance to try Papyros - however, I'm running into some problems installing. I'm receiving a `failed retrieving file 'papyros.db' from dash.papyros.io` 404 error. Is this something on my end, or is the site down? Thanks.

Hello. I wanted to try the papyros-shell on Arch Linux. When I try to do pacman -Sy after I've added the Papyros repos, I get a 404. Why? How can I resolve this?

+Yannis Yahi Comme l'a dit +A.J. Ruckman, les instructions d'installations sont disponibles à l'adresse mentionnée. Mais n'hésite pas à demander si tu as des questions (plutôt via Hangouts, car cette communauté est théoriquement english-only).

Hi. I found a dead link in http://papyros.io/get_involved/index.html
, "desktop library". :)
Papyros is a modern operating system which adheres to Google's Material Design guidelines and is based on Arch Linux.

I have a fresh install of Arch Linux, added Papyros repo, installed papyros-shell and I can't run papyros-session. From SDDM when I run, SDDM restarts without any error in /var/log and when I start for example fluxbox and try to run papyros-session inside of it, I get error XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set in the enviroment. What to do? :(

I tried from SDDM and xdm, but does not work. From xterm in Fluxbox also does not work. From your comments as I understand it is very unstable right? Should I wait few months before trying again?

Hey guys, I'm having problems with Papyros. I would like to test it, so I installed ArchLinux in a VM and followed the steps from Papyros Download website, but everytime I do the 'papyros-session' command in a terminal, it opens this:

"Oh no!

The desktop failed to materialize"

Can someone help me? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I can't install it on a physical machine, because I can't use a non-stable system there. Maybe later. :p

Are there any active projects to port Papyros's shell to Windows? I'm working on one, but if someone else has started too, we could collaborate.

I'm trying to install MegaSync from yaourt, but it depends on qtchooser, which conflicts with qt5-base-git. qt5-base-git is required by multiple papyros apps so I was wondering if anyone knows of a way around this wherein I can still use MegaSync with papyros apps working?

+Christen Edmundson agreed. furthermore people seem to think that the alpha will be ready as a everyday OS. After the release all the "papyros is dead" posts probably will turn into "papyros is unusable" posts.

if that wouldn't look like censorship we should really put a spam filter on these topics lol.

Hello, I look after your project since .. few month now, and like some other says, you need people to contribute.

So, as a python/PyQt developer I offer my help.
I prefer use PyQt because I love python, but I can also do pure QT stuff in c++.

I see the github, but I don't know where do you need the more help.
(also if my English is bad, I apologize, it's not my mother tongue)

Hello ( and sorry for my English ): one time it crossed my mind ago, if there is the possibility of including desktop shell for the distribution of Manjaro Lxqt . Maybe it's something silly, surely .
Beyond the crazy ideas , I'm sending my good wishes for the project. Have good hope for release .

+Victor Tran Yes typically KDE would be better to supply the dependencies but I am running a slightly lower end computer so I fear it would have a hard time running both Plasma and the Papyros shell

Highlighting issues with the existing Arch packages

Attempted to try out Papyros today by installing the Arch packages. Failed to come up due to missing QML imports (At least it actually echos this on the display)

The Material them they are relying on has a whole host of components at 0.2, while they are importing Material 0.1. It would appear the automatic versioning filtering caught someone off guard.

Busy employing sed foo which appears to be working, but I am not optimistic

I installed Papyros today, and I have some questions:

a -  Where can I look for some documentation about Greenisland? I'm absolutely noob with QML, but I already know some programming languages, and I want to get my hands dirty with the Papyros shell.

b -  Can I expect an option to disable titlebars in the future? Maybe using the Action Bar to drag the window, and adding close and minimize buttons in it.

c -  More about Wayland than Papyros, but is there a way to change the cursor theme (Vanilla-DMZ to be precise)?

d -  Is there something like a 'speed factor' variable for animations? I want to speed up ALL the animations in Papyros, without having to change every transition duration variable in the shell.

For feature request and stuff like that I find that github issues and/or tagging Michael works better.

1.) Qt's documentation is really annoying for me and GreenIsland's is just terrible. +Michael Spencer made an issue on GreenIsland's Github for this: https://github.com/greenisland/greenisland/issues/61

2.) That would have compatibility problems but would be super cool

3.) A Ctrl-F for cursor on this page might help. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/wayland

4.) Not currently but It wouldn't be hard to implement as far as I know.
