If anyone (Including +Joe Smith ;) ) is wondering what happened to PapyrOS,
It's not dead,and was lately merged with Hawaii OS & Liri Project to form something greater, Liri OS!!
which means all the developers from those projects are now working together to make Liri OS possible.
[ PapyrOS + Hawaii OS == Liri OS ]

You may join the Google community for Liri OS at https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/115722443491803015565
and check the Github repo at https://github.com/lirios

So community, the guys at https://www.reddit.com/r/AskLinuxUsers wants to do an AMA with the developers for Papyros. This could be a great way to promote Papyros and AMA's are always fun. Are any developers (specifically Michael Spencer) interested in doing it?

Hey everybody. I know everyone's feeling a little impatient, since we haven't seen anything new lately. Please know that the Github is still active and there is still work being done!
A lot of the progress has been halted due to what's called "upstream issues": basically, the code upon which the project is based (the stuff that we didn't write ourselves) is flawed, and we have to wait until the people who wrote that fix their stuff so we can fix ours. It's fairly messy, but unfortunately there's not much we can do about it. Thanks, and stay tuned!
(Also, check out the Github and see for yourself the latest commits and updates!)

We are going to start with an xdg-app and OSTree backend, so arch packages won't work right away, but eventually we will implement an interface with pacman and maybe other package managers as well

Top Linux Distributions To look Forward To In 2016
It is particularly difficult handpicking distributions to look out for in 2016, cause, to be honest, they are all great in their little ways with some meant for

+Luca Di Martino okay cool..i like what you've done with eMod however, there's very little details on what your OS entails in English .... i'll need you to help me out here if you can speak/write English as google's translation of Spanish to English is rather poor and hard to understand..

So +Papyros has been quietly working on refactoring the Papyros shell, hopefully, to be released sometime in the near future.

Hey everyone! Here's the first beta release of Liri Text. It lacks a lot of important features for now but I hope you'll already find it useful in some way.

Current key objectives:
- Search through file (as well as Find & Replace)
- Customization (allow choosing font, line breaks, count of recent files to store etc.)
- Syntax highlighting for code

If you have something else you think should be included in Liri Text or any other sort of feedback, you're welcome :)

You can find builds for Arch Linux and Mac OS X here: https://github.com/liri-project/liri-text/releases/tag/0.1
Or compile it from source code: https://github.com/liri-project/liri-text

And if you get a successful build for Windows or another yet unsupported platform I will gladly add it to the release page :)

Okay, so, I figured someone needed to make this update, might as well be me:

PAPYROS IS NOT DEAD. There are a number of large things in progress (not personally a dev, so I wouldn't know all of what exactly), including the ISO for the first public alpha release.

Please do not post, asking if Papyros is dead. If Papyros is decided to not have enough support, the devs will UNDOUBTEDLY make a post stating that they are disappointed to say they cannot continue due to X, Y, or Z reasons.

For those who are working on, or contributing to development, feel free to post updates, those of us who aren't as involved would love to better understand what all is going on;
but for the rest of us, please don't post ask if papyros is dead, without doing anything like checking the github, or looking into it at all: papyros is not dead, and you will undoubtedly hear about it in the case that it does die.

Rant over.

In preparation for the release of ISOs and stable packages, we've moved the existing package repository to http://dash.papyros.io/repos/papyros-testing, and renamed some of the packages to properly use the -git postfix.

So, if you want to use the testing repository, add this to your /etc/pacman.conf file:

[papyros-testing]
SigLevel = Never
Server = http://dash.papyros.io/repos/$repo/$arch

This new repository also has i686 packages as well as x86_64 packages.

+elo Qi You won't. The 0.1 milestone is just the shell itself.

I'm wondering, +Michael Spencer are the packages going to be out on the repo soon? I'd like to get my mouse working on the release version, rather than the git builds.
