Check out this video I did for a company's web site. We did it in the HOW It Made format. From PSC Video Services

Not bad at all.  Lighting needs a bit of work.  But you must have had fun with the moving cutter head.  The explanation was clear and concise.  The narration sounded very fifties.  I'm sure they were pleased with it.

I'm back with a new video of the series #LomoLove, now it's time for the #Lomokino camera. All images taken in Sevilla, Spain. I used a 35mm film, developed by the C-41 process. This is a 2fps stopmotion video and all audios were originally recorded while taking pictures. I'm in love with this new toy. I hope you enjoy it!

Some people just 'pop down the road' to see their family. We have to fly across an ocean from Saint Paul, MN to the UK and then undertake another journey to get to the Orkney Islands, located off the north coast of Scotland... but what an utterly magical place. Stunning natural beauty, ancient archaeology and incredible mystery. It's got a wonderful atmosphere unlike anywhere else on earth. We took an old camera and kept shooting...

Locations: Kirkwall, Skara Brae, Birsay, Stromness, Ring of Brodgar, Deerness.
Soundtrack: Farewell to Stromness as performed by the Minneapolis Guitar Quintet.
Poetry: George Mackay Brown's "Hamnavoe", as performed by the man himself.
Equipment: Canon 600d & EFS 17-55mm 2.8

Would you like to see a ranking and how you compare to other film makers / photographers in the field?  This could be a good tool for you to use so you can compare and improve in the areas that need help. If you are ranked or graded by SmartShoot than you should periodically be able to see the results. This could be as easy as putting a field, that only the film maker / photographer can see, in our profiles that shows the ranking that SmartShoot has assigned to him or her.

Hello fellow freelancers! My name is Meg, I am a photographer and blogger and I run Optical Intake, which is a visual inspiration and creative self-help blog.
On the blog this month, I am talking about mental health and general well-being for freelancers. In my latest post, I discuss how to ease yourself into a normal working routine after you've experienced a difficult time in your life - be it mental health related or not.
If you'd like to have a read: http://www.opticalintake.co.uk/feel-productive-when-life-gets-tough/

When things get tough mentally, physically or spiritually it can be really difficult to get out of bed and out of your pyjamas, let alone carry on with your schedules, goals and to-do lists! "Who cares about the bloody to-do list when I feel like this?!" is often muttered under my breath (

I am having the same problem as Bill, I am sitting at my desk when the email comes in and by the time I get to the Jobs page that is always up the job is gone. If this happened once or twice it wouldn't be a big deal, but it is happening nearly every time. Unless someone is getting the emails before me there should me no way the could get to the job that fast every time. If someone is getting the jobs and changing the original shoot so they can take these jobs than this is not what we were told in the beginning. This has been a concern sense the start of this year.

That is usually the case for me as well.  It might be a tiered system.  Or the person getting the most jobs has a system for faster claim response.

We made a highlight video for Saint Mark's Catholic School's 8th grade baseball team. Unfortunately, Saint Mark's lost the game and there weren't as many highlights on the field as we would have liked but the coach gave a classic 'COACH T' speech at the end and after that it all made sense!

When it came to putting the music to the piece, we thought about something upbeat and motivational but something about the idea of a melancholic piano track where one might not expect it just kept hanging around... it just worked and it's a lot more interesting!
The 'Open Goldberg Variations' recording of some wonderful Bach piano music provided the PERFECT soundtrack and a Creative Commons Zero License to boot... very helpful!

I swear, this isn't another one of those #AprilFools jokes.
It's April Fools, and no, we are not going to surprise you with a faux story of a brand new secret Canon or an Apple drone. Instead, we're going to take a look

hey freelancers! on the blog this week, I'm giving tips on being confident at your next big meeting (at the very least faking it til you become it, hehe). thought it might be helpful for some of you!

You might have noticed, I am writing about dealing with mental health as a freelancer this month. I suffer from anxiety (I think I might have mentioned that a few times this month right...?) and I'd like to pass on any tips and tricks I have for surviving as a freelancer and building a business

Would it be possible to get a update once a month that reflects our ranking and how we compare to others in the field. This would be a good tool for us to use so we can improve in the areas that need help. If we are ranked or graded by SmartShoot than we should periodically be able to see the results. This could be as easy as putting a field, that only we can see, in our profiles that shows the ranking that SmartShoot has assigned to us.
