This is my second picture for this week. Last Friday I joined my niece and her cousins, all under 4, as they visited Thomas the Tank Engine at the Rail Workshop Museum in Ipswich. I was the designated photographer for the day. I took mostly pictures of cute toddlers but I did manage to take a few scenic shots. This is one I took while we were riding the miniture train ^.^ #O2Sphoto

+Emma Yench I had same problem as you. Had to open this pic on computer to find the chair. My phone just shows a lovely black background.

I wasn't sure about posting this, but that graffiti interested me and would like to hear reviews and learn.
I was travelling through train and saw this outside, Had no time to compose properly or do the settings of camera
So i just thought to click and do post processing(clicked with my iphone).
So did a little bit processing and cropping with Snapseed(best app i consider for phone editing).

I don't do selfies, so this is just about the only photo i have of me that i've taken. I don't suppose its appropriate to post a photo that someone else has taken in this particular forum! anyhow, this is pretty representative of me, nonetheless :) I wish the iPad wasn't in the photo, but for this particular purpose, its appropriate. i'm always on some sort of hand held device.

I took the selfie challenge. I shot in RAW but it didn't really work out because I just don't have the proper editing software. Anyway, I like travelling and one of the things I do when I travel is buy snowglobes. I have a bit of a collection happening. So I decided to photograph the globes in front of a mirror in my room. I probably should have done something about having a more interesting background. Or worked on blurring it. Not to mention show more of my face. Anyway, I'll probably revisit this picture concept again sometime. #O2Sphoto #O2SPHOTOSELFIE

+ROHIT LOHIA Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try them out for sure!

+John Bourne Thanks but I already have gimp, but I couldn't install the plug in to read NEF. I also downloaded the Nikon software but it was useless. I ended up using an online converter, which was not great. Unfortunately my version of Photoshop is old and doesn't read NEF either :(

Dark topic - Nick Drake biography.

+Bob DotS Do you know the story of Nick Drake? It's pretty dark and sad and confused. I thought there was a correlation between a self portrait and a biography (unfortunately there is no autobiography of Nick). I love to read but usually go for something lighter. I like entertainment to lift me up not pull me down, but I was curious about this guy after owning his music for many years.

I didn't put anything on my face. I used the slidey things on the computer and was so impressed by how this look suited the reading material.
This self portrait was a really crazy idea I had last week: it's around 5 degrees daytime temps, and rains a lot. Not great photography weather. So what if I sat in the rain reading and took a series of shots showing me get progressively wetter? Well, problems... not enough light and not enough rain. Had to sit for more than half an hour to get this shot and I put heaps of mascara on hoping it would run. No luck.
I'll try this again once my cold clears up. Maybe in the summer!

HELP (may not be possible) this is a Frank Gehry building opposite the Museum of Contemporary Art in LA, took it with my phone, I like the shapes in the image but one section is burnt out, I saw the video that used a curves adjustment layer filled with black and then, in the adjustment layer, a section of a window was painted with a white brush to reveal more detail in the dark window, haven't been able to do the reverse, have searched photoshop help without success. Any comments appreciated. Went for BW because the blue sky was a bit strong. #o2sphoto

I grew up with black and white, my father took hundreds of BW photos in the 30s and 40s, I've probably scanned nearly 600 of his prints onto the computer, so if I've got a preference it's usually towards BW.

#MACRO
This is a macro shot of the tips of an Australian 'bottle brush' native flowering tree (please don't ask me for specifics, I must plead ignorance here).

PS Do NOT believe the EXIF data that says the lens was a 50mm f1 (if only I could afford such a lens!)

It was in fact shot in fully manual mode on a Nikon fitted with an extension bellows and 40 year old Minolta 50mm f1.4 Rokkor lens.

Hastings jetty, Western Port Bay this morning, played around with this one correcting distortion and tried a couple of adjustment layers, not quite there yet, overcast sky, the cloud looked quite interesting. #o2sphoto

#O2Sphoto. So today I thought I would play around with iPhone. Used app called Camera+. It's been reliable and today's shot I think is a brilliant macro picture. Used lightroom on iPad to add some warmth
