+Kobold Press is putting together tables for Origins!

Are you interested in running Midgard at Origins this summer? We're looking at offering games there, but need help from you!

If you run 4 tables or more, your Origins badge will be compensated, and we'll give you the adventures and pregens to run. Get a Kobold Press t-shirt!

If that sounds like something you'd like to do, email me, Ben McFarland, at: brickk@gmail.com with the subject: "Origins 2017 Volunteer" and we'll get the ball rolling. Forms need to be in by March 1st to Origins, so we'll need to have details sorted out with volunteers by February 27th, to give us a day to put it all together.

But why wait? Let me know you're going to Origins today and you want to not only run Midgard but have your badge paid for, and receive a snazzy t-shirt to wear there!

Jim Groves weighs in about the beginning of the great war of destruction starting in the north of Midgard!

That may sound really fun, but there are a number of in-character and metagame considerations that have gone into this decision. Ragnarok is Norse concept of an apocalyptic war where several gods die and a series of natural disasters occur. The world is submerged in water until it is born anew. It is preordained, and Northerners firmly believe that it is unavoidable. What an exciting milieu to play in!

That potential excitement comes at a price and not every fantasy campaign setting has managed those story elements very well. First, it contains elements of prophetic events, and secondly it might take the setting in a direction the GM may not like. Also, preordained events always challenge the perception that the PCs can affect meaningful change upon the world. However, if you ignore Ragnarok completely, then you’re setting aside an important bit of cultural authenticity which belongs to Northerners (and their Norse inspirations). Don’t worry, we have a plan.

The latest updates on stretch goal progression and new martial archtypes for 5e!
We've passed 130k, and that means more info on the Wasted West and Seat of Mavros is being added to the Midgard Hardcover! Up next at 135k is Deep Magic: Hieroglyphic Magic for the Heroes Handbook.

If you're in the mood for something a little more substantial check out the latest update Sneak Peek: Martial Traditions for Heroes Handbook. Today we take a look at the martial side of the Heroes Handbook. Chapter 4 of the Midgard Heroes Handbook offers eight new martial paths, with a few more paladin and rogue options in design right now.

Follow the link for a quick summary of what those paths are about and the advantage you gain upon first setting your foot on a particular course.

Please share this post with those that might be interested in Midgard!

The latest installment, hot off the presses. This makes three base classes I've written guides for, now. Should I keep the party going?

+Wolfgang Baur discusses the new Midgard Kickstarter. And Odin. And junior high.

Is this where i would ask for questions regarding monsters in Tome of Beasts? Is Ratfolk Rogue Flurry of Daggers one attack roll applied to 3 targets? can you throw all 3 at one target?

Would Possession be on the White Necromancer spell list? It looks like it wasn't published until after the WN class, which I might presume to be the reason for omission. With both Marionette Possession and Mind Jar on the list, it seems to make sense for Possession to also be a 5th-level spell option.
