ACT has extended their late registration deadline until October 10 for the October 28 testing date.

If you would like to take the CNA (Certified Nurse's Aid...$12/hr starting), I need you to sign up on the door of my office. You must take the Accuplacer if you have not, there are books to buy , but the tuition is FREE!!! I need you to sign up by Friday 13 (YUCK) to be able to lock in a teacher. If you have already taken Accuplacer, you may not need to retest. Come see me if you have questions.

I have made copies of the credit counting sheets. They are on the work table in my office. Also on the work table is ACT study packets. This packet gives you practice questions from each section of the test. It is helpful to know what the questions 'LOOK LIKE' before taking a timed test.

The HCC Guarantee Scholarship dinners will be on the following dates in the following communities. You may attend any of the events, but you MUST register for the one you WANT to attend.

The dates are:
Monday, Nov. 6 in McPherson
Tuesday, Nov. 7 in Newton
Wednesday, Nov. 8 in Hutchinson

All dinners start at 6:30 and the students are welcome to come to any dinner location that fits their schedule the best. They can sign up to attend at

Here is a news cast from last year about hidden scholarships. It has some good info. Have paper and pencil to take notes...

Happy Monday!

The first 9 weeks is half over! How are your grades? Have you started looking for free money? I will be in Ashworth's room next week to help you look for free money. If you read this all the way to the end, there is a surprise for you in my office! Shhh... it's a secret. Don't tell your friends to check their Wildcat Community!

Love you all!

If you are planning on taking the ACT test, the next deadline to sign up is Sept 22. The actual test will be on Oct 28. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch, I have fee waivers for the cost of the test in my office.

If you go to, you will find practice tests and test taking suggestions. You should spend plenty of time taking advantage of these hints that can help you increase your test scores.

I have a few practice test booklets in my office if you prefer a hard copy.

Here is a good scholarship search engine. You need to go to the webpage and sign up for the monthly updates with deadlines. If you receive scholarship money that you do not use to pay for your post secondary education, you get that money in cash when you finish at that institution/training facility.

Go to this website:

Don't forget: NEVER pay for scholarship information or sites!

Happy hunting!

Ah, Seniors! Two weeks into your senior year and only 31 more school weeks to go until graduation! It is time to start working to get money to help pay for any post-secondary education training you want to pursue. In my office I have your free copy of your current transcript. You will get another free copy of your transcript after this semester is over. You will need this transcript to apply to training facilities, colleges, and apply for job. When you pick up your free transcript, put it in a safe and protected place. I will have transcripts with me in the hall.

Go back and reread the previous posts...there is scholarship information and such. Set your notifications to let you know when I post stuff...if you want free money and jobs....
