Extremist to idealist - Distortion of the Political Spectrum

Either end of that spectrum will house 10% extremists ideas....from horrifically brutal to idea of nirvana. The blame...fault...accountability for the explosion of the abnormal should be placed on the 80% that lies between the extremes.

USA has plenty of extreme ideas, however, the normal folks in the 80% do a pretty good job of moving these extreme folks to the fringe of society because their wacky ideas are not tolerated by the 80% that just want to live a right and productive life.

Only when ones own cultural environment steps up to push out the hate, push out the evil spreaders, push away the extremists.....do these ideas and those who spread them become contained into the spot they earned....being walled off from society.

There is nothing simple about any radical that is willing to wrap themselves in religion to carry out their distorted vision. However, there are always core issues that can be examined under the bright light of history. History is the best indicator of the future....be it for individuals, culture or regions....so let's consider the pattern.

The historical pattern of migratory cultures from EurAsia region led to a different type of "nationalism" to be established. There were various strong leaders that emerged from Genghis Kahn, the crazy Huns and Suliemon the Great, that attempt to united tribes. Still today the Middle East seems dominated by the tribal obligations that are more important than the country where they live.

Because of this strong tribal culture, there was little that could work as a uniting idea under one leader. Dare I say, the brilliance of the Islam Prophet was to unite the tribes and create a single Muslim culture under the flag of Islam. Because of the tribal beliefs, dissenters were not tolerated under the threat of death.

Why the fight between Sunni and Shia? The Shia are the minority are are a result of a war for power and control. This would be like the Lutherans going to war with the Catholics.....but it speaks to the absolute lack of tolerance within the radical and true followers of the Prophet.

The unifying force of the region is not like that of Europe. Poland, Germany, France, Romania, Switzerland..... Pollocks, Germans, Swiss, French, Romanian.....we understand these identities and with few exceptions what they stand for in terms of culture. The USA celebrates and accepts the variations into the melting pot because most people want the American Dream.

I am from Ohio....that conquers up a certain idea about me.... coal, steel, hard work, great football tradition,Buckeye.....Normally, we have a certain pride and identify with where we live: the culture norms, the geography and the local food taste.

However, these norms don't apply under Islam....the fervor is the commonality of one true believer system. Tolerance, possibility, questioning, freedoms.....just don't mean the same under the Islam flag.

Radical Islam is like no other "religion" that we can begin to appreciate the basic life principals and teachings......because there are none save acceptance or die!  Nice folks.

Some of the earliest indications of the radicals imposing their will happened in Spain.  There in the Iberian region, Jews, Christians and Muslims were living in peace...sharing a rich and diverse culture of equals.  That is until a force from North Africa decided that this was unacceptable for Muslims. The radical forces traveled into Spain destroyed the life of peaceful coexistence and forced a choice....accept Islam or die!   Does this sound familiar?

We must take the Senate in this election.  Focusing on agendas will not matter unless we do!

From its inception until today, America has been known as one of the most compassionate nations on earth. It is kind because its people are kind. Its citizens give not once but TWICE in every global humanitarian crisis: Once through their government (we the people) and again from their own personal pockets.

As scandals grow to become the norm throughout the Obama administration, his handling of these events also develops a common formula, a checklist of controversy diffusion and blame shifting to Republicans for creating a conspiracy. There are six steps:

The anti-gun crowd, however, refuses to accept this common sense reading of the amendment. The best way to interpret the Constitution begins with actually reading it.  The next best thing is to read what the Constitution’s chief drafter, James Madison, had to say about America’s founding document.  Madison was the chief author of the Federalist Papers, along with John Jay and Alexander Hamilton.  The Federalist Papers offer great insight into the political theories of the day that led to our system of government.

Though taxing corporations may be a political no-brainer, it may be a big economic mistake. This column discusses recent research showing that the tax is not paid primarily by rich corporate shareholders. They can, and do, move their capital away from countries that have high corporate rates. Eliminating the U.S. corporate tax by, for example, taxing accrued global corporate profits as personal income can produce dramatic increases in U.S. investment, output, real wages, and saving. Modest gains accrue to early generations with very sizable gains going to young and future generations, both skilled and unskilled.
