I just found this MOOC and hope that you'll repeat again in 2016 or 2017. I am in Chicago and have been using maps since 1993 to focus attention and resources on neighborhood with high poverty and where non-school tutor, mentor and learning organizations operate, and/or more are needed. I share map stories on two blogs. This map can be seen at https://mappingforjustice.blogspot.com/2016/04/using-maps-to-support-community.html It's one of more than 1000 articles I've posted on blogs since 2005.

I think that every big city in the world has areas of concentrated poverty, meaning there could be teams doing what I'm doing in every city (or doing it much better). Thus, I hope the articles I share on my sites are useful resources to stimulate thinking and innovation and I hope to connect with others who are sharing their sites and ideas for the same purpose. I'm on Twitter @tutormentorteam if you'd like to connect there.

This link was shared in the Permaculture mooc I'm currently doing (lite) and looks at "Retrofitting the Suburbs" with particular reference to Australia. Good read. https://holmgren.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2003/11/RetrofittingTheSuburbsSimplicityInstitute1.pdf

plus a cute Google doodle to boot. I'll probably run up a quick collection on OneTab too. Does anyone here have G+ collection on cities?
