HS English teachers... What do you think about Shakespeare in the classroom? The Core says yes, but why? My coworkers and I got into a hot debate on the topic, and I'm curious about other people's opinions.

I wish there was a resource for linking current nonfiction to common language arts texts. Connecting kids to real-world situations that are similar to those characters face in a text is so powerful!

This is a funny clip to show to a high school math class at the beginning of the class period.  I showed it when I got back from maternity leave and told them this was the most math I had done in 12 weeks.  Plus I'm a big fan of Jimmy Fallon!

Creating a self-paced classroom last year was a big risk. However, I can't go back now. My students gained autonomy, confidence, and resiliency. Woot!
