I was talking to an entrepreneur recently who had never used goals in Google Analytics – in fact,they hadn’t even heard of it before!

I know it’s not that uncommon – after all, Google already provides some strong, useful analytics from the start, so why bother?

But if you want to see the stats that really matter to you and your website, the ones that lead to conversions, then you should be creating some goals.

In my latest blog post, I talk about the importance of creating goals in Google Analytics, as well as a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

I think this is completely true. But it's not just adequate segmentation. It also comes down to the message, medium and brand. As well as probably another 100+ factors.
