ART (Android Runtime) is the most exciting thing to happen to Android since it's huge makeover with Ice Cream Sandwich. The primary reason for lagging that we experience on Android is the Dalvik Runtime it currently depends for execution. Once Google switches to ART, the whole OS will feel a lot snappier and more responsive. Android 4.4 KitKat already has a setting in Developer Options to use ART instead of Dalvik and the results show a lot of potential. But some major apps like Whatsapp and Titanium Backup are not compatible with ART yet.
