Hi
For those of you interested in events outside of London, I help organise a West Country Travel Meet up involving PRs, writers and travel companies. Feel free to RSVP if you're in the area.
Fi Quinn originally shared:

The Mercure is launching a new look Bristol themed restaurant and refurbished rooms. They are holding an event at the hotel to promote the refurb and have invited the good people of the West Country Travel Meet to come along too for a couple of drinks, a bit of food and a chance to have a bit of to travel chat.

Just in case various Guild members hadn't heard, I have stepped down as editor of World of Cruising magazine as of this month, and John Honeywell (aka Captain Greybeard) is taking over. Time to do something new...!

Oh, and we also have a book called Breakfast In America which we're trying to find a publisher for. Brilliant road trip along the length of I-75 from Canada to Miami...!

The launch of my memoir Travels with My Hat by Australian media icon Ita Buttrose attracted  90 people for the event, held at Gleebooks in Sydney. Twitter comments called it "a brilliant launch with stories by women of travel in the 70s". Very pleased - with the right team, self publishing is the way to go.
