Okay, so I have a level one and a level two question. Let's see who picks which to answer. First, can a GAFE customer enable an option for our G+ users to choose whether to make their Hangout on Air Public OR Domain Only? Second, is there any way to do a stop-motion Hangout on Air?

Hello 3rd-7th Grade teachers. The NWS office in El Paso will start this year's weather education Hangouts with four hour-long Ask-a-Meteorologist sessions in September.  If you are interested in your students having a chance to ask questions and get answers to their weather questions this your opportunity. For exact dates and times see the registration link below.
Drive
Ask-a-Meteorologist Sign-upWe will be conducting a unique question and answer session for you and your students. For an hour your students (and others) will be able to ask NWS meteorologist any weather questions they can come up with. We will have a panel of meteorologists who will not only answer their questions, but will work to find visual resources to demonstrate their answers. I hope you and your students will be able to participate in the Q and A time. Please note...

Hello! I teach sixth grade social studies (World Geography) in Southern Indiana (U.S.)  and I am looking to do a hangout towards the end of October with a classroom at a school in or around Dublin, Ireland. If possible, I would then like to visit your classroom in person when I am in Dublin in early November. Please contact me if you are interested! Any classroom Grade 3-12 would be great.

Hi everyone! I'm looking to do a hang out at the end of September for students in Grade 7 about cultural differences, especially when it comes to communication and conflict resolution. Preferably looking for a hang out with students and teacher in another country and who speak English. We are located in the Eastern Standard Time Zone in the USA. Our class meets from 9:50 to 10:50 AM. Please email: kimberly.luppino@pequannock.org

Hi, I am looking for francophone students to chat with my students aged 11-14. They are anglophones from a very small school in rural Ontario, learning French. There will be approximately 11 in my class, starting Sept 8th.
We are hoping to introduce ourselves and chat about daily life (movies, music, books, games, jobs, school etc). Ideally, we would like to chat once a month, one topic at a time, starting with introductions.
If time zones are an issue, we would be happy to make videos to exchange. I am thinking that questions could be asked in L2 since they are more predictable, and answers can be given in L1, since they are more likely to be complicated.
If you are interested, we would be delighted! Please send an email at: twilson@smcstudents.ca
Thanks!

Hello there, I have a second grade student here in Japan and in the mornings and evenings during the week, she and I do Mystery Hangouts together so she can use her English and also answer questions about what it is like to go to school in Japan. We can chat with whole classes or small groups or homeschoolers.
Format is standard Mystery Hangouts, first we rock paper scissors to see who goes first. Then we go back and forth with yes/no questions until we both figure out where the other is.  Then we can take turns asking each other questions about our country and life at school there.
Ask if you have any questions please ask, and if you want to hang out with us, please sign up on our calendar below... thanks!

Hello Language Teachers! I teach French in Canada. For the past few years my teaching partner and I have been using video chats with other language learners. We are looking to update our process and material. First of all, we have decided that Hangouts is the tool to use. We would love some feedback - update suggestions for our material, and we are hoping to connect with a French first-language class (maybe English learners?) Please check out our process and let me know what you think. Do you have suggestions for our experienced students who no longer want to simply introduce themselves? How can we extend this? What other technology could/should be incorporated into this project? We appreciate your time and consideration! Please make use of the material if you can.

About this community

This is a community for educators who are using Google Hangouts in their classrooms. My hope is that this becomes a hub for teachers to connect, collaborate, and discuss how they are using Google Hangouts to enrich the learning experiences of their students.

Hello:  I am a sixth grade language arts teacher and I am interested in having my students do a "fan fiction" project.  I would like them to publish online but I have not been able to find a fan fiction site that does not have inappropriate content.  I am interested in starting a Google Community for fan fiction for middle school students, maybe?  This project would fit into my curriculum at the end of the school year so I have plenty of time to think about it.  I am hoping to find other teachers who might be interested.  I have found that allowing kids to write about something they are interested in...a movie, a book, a video game is great for motivation!

Hello High School English Teachers, Although I know this is very specific, I would love to do a hangout with another class studing similar authors or genres as my students. I currently teach IB English seniors who are studying Orwell's works but could also make historical connections, as well as sophomores who are finishing short fiction and moving into Huxley's Brave New World.  Both classes will be studying other texts later too, so we can talk about other possibilities.

The Seniors could also be a resource to younger classes if that is a need, as they have to complete projects having a community, action, or service component.

In either case, please let me know if you might be interested!

Hello Teachers! I am a 5th grade teacher in Vermont and would like to setup some Hangouts for the year. I've never done this before with a class, but am interested in connecting with different classes around the United States and the world. I will be doing a geography unit with my class, especially focusing on the culture surrounding your area including foods, landmarks, well known activities or famous places to visit in your state, as well as special qualities of your state. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks!
