Even iconic video games have their crappy bosses. Super Mario 64, for the Nintendo 64, is no exception. It may be my all-time favourite Mario and platform game, but unfortunately, that does not spare Super Mario 64 from Crappy Videogame Boss Battles status. The offender in what is otherwise a great game: Giant Whomp, from Whomp's Fortress.

So what qualifies Giant Whomp as a 'Crappy Boss'? Giant Whomp acts the exact same a regular Whomp, so it's very predictable in behaviour and is taken down the same way, albeit taking three hits. Despite it's giant size, it is still rather easy to avoid it's body slam attack. Not only is there a generous amount of time to attack, it's entire back is a giant hit box. So it's rather easy. The problem however, is just how easy it is to avoid it's only attack...

It is also possible to simply go under Giant Whomp when it attacks. Not only by running under, but even by walking casually under as it pathetically flops and crashes. Curiously if you simply walk under Giant Whomp, Mario will get stuck and cannot be harmed in this state, nor can it attack you, despite it apparently squashing you. You can glitch straight through it by jumping, making the effort of dodging it obsolete.

It can do a third damage if you do get squashed, but it's unlikely for a semi-competent gamer to be defeated this way after three attacks. If all else fails, you can simply leave the battle arena to heal and restart it.

Carnivorous Hounds, hordes of undead and Blood sucking Vampires set in a dark archaic midevil world is what Castlevania is all about. It may not directly scare you unless your easily spooked but there's no question of the horror that waits within!

#castlevania  is the first 3D game in the Castlevania series. The player selects one of the game's protagonists to control: Carrie Fernandez, a young orphan gifted with magic powers, or Reinhardt Schneider, the whip-wielding heir to the Belmont clan (the series' recurring protagonists). Carrie and Reinhardt set out on a quest to stop Count Dracula's impending return to power after a century of dormancy. The characters travel to and explore Dracula's grand estate in their mission to defeat the count and his horde of undead minions.

Personally I didn't like the 3d Castlevanias as much as the 2D #platformers, what do you think of the Castlevanias for the Nintendo 64?

Got Lucky on this lot awhile back bought a Nintendo 64 and it came with these boxed games except Mario 64. Pretty good titles, some of the boxes have seen better days but still happy to have them! What is some of the jewels in your collection?

Anto RetroGamer Presents: a compilation of my favourite finishing moves or finishers - in no particular order - for WCW/nWo Revenge, exclusively on the Nintendo 64. In my opinion, the greatest wrestling game ever made based on World Championship Wrestling. Please note that this is a personal list of favourite moves, and not a ranking of the 'best' or 'flashiest' finishers in the game. If I really like them personally, they get featured here.

This is Dragon Sword 64 a unreleased N64 game! It was a RPG similar to Gauntlet Legends and it was made by the the same people who made Glover. So far it has been pretty fun!
