Castle Panic 3D Printed pieces UPDATE!

I have spread the stairs over three segments instead of two to make them less steep.  I curved the front of the towers to give them a round shape instead of a hexagon shape.  Also the window now is open all the way through and I have a small archer alcove.  I have added turrets on the ends of the walls segments.

My son beat me at Catan Jr. again using the secret card method.  Does this drive other parents crazy?  I think he is ready to enter some competitions for kids at Gencon this year.  I wonder if there are any kids-only tournaments for Munchkins, cause he inexplicably beats me in that game at least half of the time as well.

The Coco (i.e. secret) cards seem like a chaotic way to win, but it works for him.   He is obsessed with collecting 'cheesy poofs' just for that reason and will surround said island to dominate the resource.

Wife and I played Takenoko for the first time last night and ended up playing the games. Loved it. It is beautiful and simple.

Left Pandemic out from earlier, walked back into the room to this. Either a natural disaster or he's been infected by the mutation. Not sure but it really is fun for the whole family lol.

Playing our second game of Resistance. I was a spy in the first game (5 player) but we lost. Now we're playing 6 players and adding they plot cards.

I know quite a few that have the same feelings about the plot cards.

I picked up Avalon and have had lots of fun with it.  The alternate roles (especially with the Lady of the Lake) have been a lot of fun.

So this evening some friends and I tested out a slight deviation from the norm with X-Wing Miniatures.  I came up with this free-for-all with moving asteroids using a dice roll and a set of movement based on that roll.

All in all, it was pretty fun and will probably try it again in the future with a few adjustments to the gameplay a bit.

This evening we tried a little something different with X-Wing the Miniature Game — instead of running a campaign or a Rebel vs. Imperial scrimmage, we decided to try out something different this t...

A fun day of Smash up today. Introduced two new players to the game, and came out with a draw in the first game, and loss in the second. Zombie Aliens got me the draw, and time travelling ghosts lost me the second game. Still havent got the hang of how ghosts play. Might need to look into that before my next game.

Also was introduced to Mag Blast. a space fleet card based game, where the object is to protect your mother ship, whilst destroying the enemies.
Played the first game with 8 players, and won it. Took about an hour and a half. Second game we played with 3, and took about 20 mins.

Over all, an enjoyable card-based day.

The company I work for, +DealNews , found that the iPad, Android, and Steam versions of Ticket To Ride are all on sale! I've played them all, and they're all very faithful to the tabletop gameplay.

Plus, the mobile versions have a "pass and play" option, so you can play with friends using just one device. It's a great feature.

Wait, they are charging for it now? I got it for free a few years ago. Glad I got it then, not that I wouldn't pay for a great game.

Haha, that is very close to the stack of games I'm taking to a 4th of July party. Just add in firefly!

I am secretly hopping everyone will want to try Pathfinder. No one there are really gamers I don't think, but I can hope! Still have not even punched the pawns out.

I love Quirkle, it's such a simple concept for a game, but always draws out the evil in me. Theres nothing funnier than stitching someone up, by blocking a quirkle! My only complaint, is the similarities between the blue, and the purple colours to a colour-blind person. I'd much rather they replaced one of them with White (or similar!)

Cities and knights. It adds more depth to the game and adds a new challenge which isn't hard to learn. Plus it can be played with seafarers as well.

Alright so I went out and bought ticket to ride which was a lot of fun and definately deserves the praise it got. But while playing I ran across a question I hope someone here can help with. At the end of the game when trying to figure out the longest route, my trains formed a V at one point branching off from Denver both East and South. So my question is if I am counting do I only count the trains in the main line or do I include the route the branched off as long as they are both connected?

Thanks to everyone who can help.

However!  If your train loops, for example, it runs San Francisco - Denver - Santa Fe - Oklahoma City - Denver - Kansas City, you do count the loop.  You cannot count any train car twice, but your route can pass through the same city twice.
I think of it as if I got on my train at one station, how far could I ride without ever passing over the same train tracks twice?
