The weather is hot and a few showers of rain every day is keeping the grass growing. Last year at this time there was no grass growth.
The grape bunches are starting to colour up. You can still see a few green ones showing through.

Newest brix reading of 15 for the Chambourcin and 13.5 for the Merlot.
Used my phone to look down the eye piece of the refractometer.

Have started to take brix readings of the grapes, each day. Bought a refractometer, a few years ago. Easy to use and read.  Sugar content of grape juice is expressed in percent (%) or ° Brix (e.g., 24 % sugar is equal to 24 ° Brix).

Will try for the first time to make a Rose style of wine from both the Merlot and the Chambourcin. In separate batches. Will also do a smaller few batches of red.

Over the past 9 years we have been building up our Vineyard. We planted 80 Merlot grapes 9 years ago. They are now producing some good bunches of grapes, and the wine seems to be drinkable.
