Here's a message from Steve Halso you might find interesting if you plan to use your Python/Django skills for a good cause and meeting up with other coders to hack on a new London based open source Python project.

Friends Of The Earth are hosting at their UK HQ in Stockwell a monthly hack evening where you can get together and add functionality to their recently open sourced Mapping Tool (https://bitbucket.org/mapmaker/mapmaker).
This tool allows campaigners to create online maps with multiple overlays of data stored in Google Fusion tables and Friends Of The Earth have been using it in lots of their campaigns e.g.
https://www.foe.co.uk/campaigns/climate/issues/uk_fracking_map_41274

It's a couple of hours in the evening, with a tea break in the middle and a trip to the local afterwards. If you're interested the next one is this Wednesday the 29th April at 7pm in Stockwell:

Friends Of The Earth Open Source MapMaker Tool Code Hack Evening http://www.meetup.com/London-Climate-Change-Coders/events/221778338/

It's also a great way to boost your CV with another Python/Django related project.

Hello everyone,

in the attached code when you click start it creates spinbox and starting count to 20 in qthread but if I click start again while it counts the first spinbox stoped and the new one takes the focus and both counters run in it but i need all spins to run in same time separately
import sys import time from PySide.QtGui import * from PySide.QtCore import * class frmMain(QDialog): def __init__(self): QDialog.__init__(self) self.btStart = QPushButton('Start') self.btStop = QPushButton('Stop') self.counter = QSpinBox() self.layout = QVBoxLayout() self.layout.addWidget(self.

Check it out. Website designed to teach/learn Python programming.

I have amended the website to give more options as to where you can view the videos in the PythonByteSize series. There are now two video lists one directs you to the videos on YouTube and the other lists links to the videos embedded on the website.

You can now also move through the list in sequence on the website by clicking next (and previous) links.
