Moar link dump: #intelligence

http://www.xenosystems.net/what-is-intelligence/#more-200 - intelligence is the production of local extropy. Given the importance of locality for Iain Grant (yes, I am pursuing my agendas. Semper Schelling.) , given that extropy can be produced only locally - is the production of locally extropy anything but the production of any finite products whatsoever? (Ben - is this the track on which one should go to find out how are finite objects produced from powers?) + see this post again: http://www.xenosystems.net/teleology-and-camouflage/ - what on earth gives direction to intellegence/cybernetic circuits? Where does this - very minimal, but still - teleology come from?! (That's my thesis question, by the way. Hullo).

http://www.xenosystems.net/pythia-unbound/#more-1235 - that's just as clear a stand on AI as you can get, and I love it. Nick's a crazy gambler who just wants things to be interesting (so intelligence becomes its own value and also augments itself - cybernetic closure), one has to love him (ok, maybe "one doesn't; I do) <3

While we're at this - on cybernetic closure, and why self-augmenting is the way to go: http://www.xenosystems.net/against-orthogonality/
(And I think of Schelling and potencies again).

(http://www.xenosystems.net/sub-cognitive-fragments-1/ - this, just to throw it in, is Nick asking a wonderfully pertinent question nobody asks - how to initiate thought?! That indeed should be one of the key questions.

And, for good measure, mostly unrelated - http://www.xenosystems.net/the-cult-of-gnon/ - Gnon, of course. God of Nature Or Nature - the word with which I shall try to replace "God" in discussions of Schelling (I have Nick's blessings to do that.) Remember - Deus sive Natura is an inclusive disjunction!)

(Since everyone is in Berlin, I will just shout things into here again).

http://www.xenosystems.net/freedoom-prelude-1a/#more-2992 - I think we should so assign the Teleoplexy essay - not even because of capital, but because I am so interested in how feedback loops stop being merely teleological and become teleoplexical. Can someone make a scan of that essay? I somehow gave my Accelerate book to my German teacher O_o

Also, my Bezna essay. As I only wrote this for its own sake and for the sake of disentangling what was going on with my head, please feel free to direct my thoughts on horror wherever the hell you want.

Was typing up a long post that accidentally got deleted, so screw it - here's a horror link sandbox:

http://www.xenosystems.net/antechamber-to-horror/ - why is horror the end point of philosophy?

http://www.xenosystems.net/abstract-horror-part-1/ - partly an answer to the above (because the horror thing has already infiltrated your mind before it even began to engage it metaphysical speculation and search) + horror as indefinite Shoggothic goo (see my Bezna text).

http://www.xenosystems.net/abstract-horror-part-2/ - excerpts from "On the Mountains of Madness"

http://www.xenosystems.net/horrorism/ - the post that started it all - I can't rid myself of the stunning realisation that horrorism is exactly how Stalinism worked, and that this horrorist passivisation is what made Russians the way they are about politics (and they are impossibly passive, even me).

Also, the hypestition post: http://www.xenosystems.net/scrap-note-9/ and Nick being cryptically adorable and possible pathetic: http://www.xenosystems.net/exhumation/
