Dragon Age: Inquisition: Quick Review

Wow. Blowing me away here. Up to level 11 (about 34 hours in) and made it to Skyhold. The game, the detail, the options, the choices, the storyline, the cut scenes, the battles, and so much more are just getting better and better. The ease with which you can move around the world is awesome and I notice that's one thing that I really hate in games -- when you can't get to places with ease and you seem stuck in places. Not even close to that in this game; you can access any place you need to without any problem at all.

I honestly have to say that I haven't seen water/waves/crashing waves done better in any game. Ever. The graphics are incredible when I have things set to Ultra and the game is absolutely gorgeous and even breathtaking in some areas. The music, the songs, and the sounds are amazing as well. Don't forget to stop in at one of the pubs and listen to all of the songs that are well-written and played beautifully.

Falling deeper and deeper into the storyline, the world, and the characters. Totally loving this game, even given the shortfalls that I find in some places:

1. The inventory was obviously made for a controller/console: the management and the movement through it is clunky
2. There's no inventory storage that I've seen/found yet -- just what you carry in your regular inventory. We're gamers, we like to hoard stuff
3. The crafting system seems really really clunky in some parts and even really hard to understand at first -- which probably wouldn't be an issue if it was made strictly for PC. Making a game for both PC/Console can be really tricky and you lose out on the ease-of-use if you're a PC player
4. Some of the combat is a little clunky as well -- I find that it's hard to move my character where/when I want him to. I miss the double-click the key to dive roll to the side and/or evade and I swear I keep double-clicking my keys during combat ALL of the time
5. In Multiplayer it sometimes sucks when you can't get by another character, since they can block your way. That really bothers me. I can understand NPCs blocking the way, but other players is annoying.

That's all of the negative stuff I can come up with at 1:20am, but if I think of more I'll add them. I could keep listing the pros and the great great things to this game that will keep making me play it, but there's way too much you'll have to see for yourself.

I absolutely recommend this game to everyone out there. Hands down, it's a great great game and could turn out to be one of the best.

One of the secret joys of coding.

if ($second_event_check == "yes"){
... do stuff ...
} elseif ($second_event_check == "no") {
... do other stuff ...
} else {
echo "This is a Kobayashi Maru.";
}

I know it's probably really much too late for this to be impressive, but today I managed to get all of these guys to the end of the "Office Space" level of Half-Life:Source. By the time we all got there, most of them were chattering and grunting and screaming. Saved a lot of ammo on this level.

In the old days when I was drunk and rambunctious, I'd log into Nightmare.
