Flask 0.11 Released. written by Armin Ronacher on 2016-05-29 in Releases. After a very long, long waiting time Flask finally got a new release. There really was no good reason that there has not been a release in such a long time but unfortunately once things are postponed for too long a certain ...

Hello friends... I am new to Flask Framework and I am working on a project where I have to build an API with Flask for networking. It goes in the following way :

Flask Script ---- > SSH Script ---> Device

I have done the SSH Script part but now I am stuck with building the Flask API.

The road map for the above goes like that :

-- integrate Flask with your script to call the SSH script? An example would be a single route that allows you to at least call the SSH script?

--If you can do that, then the next step I'd try is passing the IP address to the SSH script.

--If you can do that, the final thing would be to convert the output of the script into a JSON object.

I will be highly obliged if you can help me with the above thing.

Thanking you

Is there a way to modify templates from an external library so that any pip upgrade won't overwrite them?
I have a website that I'm adding a blog to with Flask-Blogging. Seems to do most of what I want and no more. Perfect. I need to make it blend in to the rest of the site, however... Flask blogging says to modify the template files to do so. But I pip installed the package - so won't any upgrade overwrite any changes I make here? The templates are inside the site-packages directory. Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this or anything? Might have to resort to just copying the templates out to another directory and copying back... Not ideal.

I have a bit of a beginner question I hope someone can provide with a simple answer or link. I am moving some personal projects from shared hosting to VPS, and trying to learn the config/admin side of things as I go. I used to host a few flask apps on separate subdomains, and could easily run each app in the root of the subdomain. Now with the VPS, I have a free SSL certificate for the root domain, but not subdomains... So I am thinking of moving the apps to subdirectories instead of subdomains so they all can use the SSL cert. The trick is I want to run a lightweight flask blog app at the root, and dispatch other flask apps at some subdirectory under the root.

I am looking at this part of the docs: http://flask.pocoo.org/docs/0.10/patterns/appdispatch/#combining-applications
Which makes me think it is possible, even if I need to build yet ANOTHER app to dispatch the requests. Is this the best way to go, or is there some server-level config (nginx) I could do that would make this even easier?

(Sorry if this is a sort of newbie question. I come from the windows dev world and don't always know the "right" way to do things on linux.)
